I have to jump in here and complain about the framing I often hear (and occasionally use myself): "voting against your self interest." I often vote against my own self interest because I think it's the right thing to do. Maybe for infrastructure in parts of the country I don't live in, maybe for healthcare for people I'll never meet, maybe for rights for groups I'm not part of.

I make a distinction between selfish interest and self-interest. Infrastructure and healthcare for people you don't meet are net goods for society which will ultimately benefit us all.

More signaling that they're going to be pro-labor, pro-working class. Very promising.

You literally just described Republicans for most of my entire adult life. Tax cuts for the rich and slashes to social services and public education cuz Jesus guns freedumb or something. Tribalism is a powerful drug
