Tough Day To Be In Law Enforcement

Just curious, is there another democracy on earth doing something like this? Incorporating paramilitaries to police (intimidate) its own citizens Seems very authoritarian to me and the opposite of what a democracy is supposed to be. Are we witnessing a fascist takeover? And what happens if/when he does this same thing on election night and prevents thousands/millions in swing states from voting?

I think these demonstrations have shown that the police are the enimies of the people by and large.

That's my conclusion.

I want a complete dismantling of our current system before we can move forward. I do not want any currently employed police officer to have a job until the entire system is re-evaluated.

They do not know how to protect the peace.

I don't think that. I think you're only seeing one side of it. "Enimies." Lol

People have been destroying cities and people expect the cops to do nothing.

Stop police brutality. Stop rioting.

It's really that simple.

Those guys do not remotely look like law enforcement to me. At all.

Maybe the cops should target the people destroying the cities.
Many videos I have watched the cops are going after peaceful protesters, the media, homeless people etc. And going after them with way too much force.

so who the **** are they? I’m a little salty today. Who are these punks occupying DC? Blackwater or whatever Erik Prince has rebranded his misfit toys? Are they Donald’s very fine people? Does Congress know any history? We have a private army occupying our Capitol city. Sure, they look like they’d occupy a box full of a dozen donuts better. But even still, a private army is occupying The seat of our federal government. Ummmm...

But then youd be letting the protestors win. And they might enact actual change. The police seem content to maintain the status quo/increase their already overbearing and Unaccountable power.

they’re just trying to dominate. It’s what Donald ordered the governors to do.

It’s just amazing to me the double standard people hold public employees. Educators since I’ve been in the profession, have been pressured to change, innovate, and become more accountable. It’s been met with mixed results but overall I’d say it’s been for the positive. I’ve never been against standardized testing and accountability as long as it’s fair. The fairness aspect Can definitely be debated. And in all of my years I’ve only met three teachers who didn’t care. They were also terminated/not renewed. Teachers for the most part, recognize accountability to be a vital part of their job.

Meanwhile, we worship the police at sporting events, give them blank checks to buy tanks and tear gas, and leave them completely Unaccountable. Even when caught murdering people on video, a large segment of our population excuses their behavior.

Yet, would anyone make excuses for a teacher caught raping a kid on video? What would you think of teachers standing by and watching as one of their own beat a child senseless? Or 57 teachers quitting a special assignment to protest the investigation of 2 of their buddies caught on video knocking a student down and standing there as he bled for his head?

It’s just unbelievable the double standard.

For sure.

In a lot of the videos I've seen, there were early curfews because the cities were in havoc after dark. After the curfew passed, the protesters were warned many times to leave and go home which they didn't.

So what happens next? Let them stay knowing what could happen or enforce the curefew?

My biggest issue with Gameface's comment was calling the vast majority of officers enemies to the people. I don't think that's true.
