NAW is very slight and is not physical at all. He's not someone who can guard guys bigger than him.

I was surprised by his measurements when I watch video he looks like he’s 6’2”.

Maybe. They can still make trades after the season has ended but before July 1st (free agency). Which includes the draft. This is how we got Ricky Rubio.

But aren’t all salaries paid out by that point? I get there is still a chance to do trades on the 21-22 schedule before July 1 but guess I’m a little confused as to how that would impact this. I thought the whole point of having a minimum salary is to penalize teams for doing exactly what the Thunder are doing.

On one hand you’d say he’s the big that allows more Forrest minutes to happen, but on the other hand you’ve got a lineup where 2/5 guys are Hernangomez and Forrest.

What would actually be most interesting is if Juancho surprises to any degree and when the Lockes and such come out to say “the Jazz always knew this, that’s why they brought him in.”

I was surprised by his measurements when I watch video he looks like he’s 6’2”.

He has decent length, but he could also blow over with a strong gust of wind. It would be hysterical if he matched up against PG or Kawhi for example. And tougher players like Booker and CP3 are going to be able to run over him too with his their strength.

I think his defensive talent, and I'm using that word loosely, is his ability to play passing lanes. I think the Jazz have so many bad on ball defenders it almost doesn't matter at this point. The defense will find a place to attack, but the Jazz have to be willing to scramble and get good at it. I'm worried that when Rudy comes back, we just revert back to the same old defense. We played great last night and NAW could be really helpful in that time scheme where he can play passing lanes and cover ground. Defensive metrics liked his defense because of his playmaking his second year.

Those picks were very late... the real motivation to do the deal is likely the extra $5M owed to NAW next year.

He's an okay prospect... again its like a 5-10% shot he becomes anything. I think he's interesting enough to sell the fans on the idea that you didn't just sell off Joe's deal to save $11M this year.

The thing I wonder.... there weren't any deals where useful players were traded for a first and expiring salary... White maybe but not truly expiring. If we had held the pick we gave away for Favs could we have done the White deal? Is there another deal out there we could have done. I'm not sure if no one was really putting picks on the table or if they were and it wasn't good enough.

Yet if Jordan Taylor Clarkson can reestablish the Microwave/Flamethrower propensities that propelled him into 6th man of the year accolades, and if this new man, NAW, exceeds expectations, then by Bayesian probability we may establish enhanced odds of achieving victory.
