I'm on board with switching the Forrest and Butler development plans for awhile. I'm anxious for Butler to get some more time in the regular rotation and think Forrest could benefit with some more time running the show in the g league (once they start playing again) and getting more attention from the development coaches.

I guess it's possible that the team wants to give Forrest as much of a look as possible before deciding on giving him a real contract. For me, I would have already gotten that done already.

Something strange about Forrest is this is the second year he has been on a two way contract and he has logged zero minutes of PT with the Stars during that time.
 
Yuta is probably too expensive and not proven enough yet to be worth his price tag from a trading team.

I'm sad, but hopefully one day the Jazz can get him.

I think he could be had in free agency… guys in his tier/range typically don’t draw more than taxpayer MLE… unless he continues his strong play and teams get more confidence in him as a player.
 
Picked up Yuta tonight in fantasy. Nice efficient game(4-6, 2-3 from 3 pt) but not much else. Oddly a -17 in +/-

I mean, if it all it took to become a 40% shooter was walking tape I'd be in the league :D Trent is a different player and athlete to GP2. GP2 is actually pretty similar to Shaq in terms of his track record and physical profile.

I think GP2 deserves a ton of credit for the work he's put in and his obvious skill level improvement, but the Warriors are also the perfect team for him. Everyone knew about GP2's defense, it shouldn't be a surprise that he's been so good on that end...but the Warriors offense is perfect for him to succeed in. They play a very unique style that allows for a lot of cutting. They run more splits and off ball movement than anyone in the league and it opens up cuts whenever the defense makes a small mistake, and there are a ton of them when they are chasing Curry around all over the place.

The Jazz play a completely different style and he wouldn't have the same success with the cutting and being a pseudo big man. We're all about spreading out and setting up a PnR action with Gobert. 90% of our offense is just creating angles for the screen and spacing out. If GP2's shooting is real he could make it work out anywhere, but I think it's important for these fringe guys to find the right spot for them to succeed. The Jazz offense doesn't require a ton to make it work either, but it's a different skillset. It's really all about the shooting. If you can't/won't shoot like Forrest it's going to be really hard to make it work here.

Stanley Johnson is probably gone for the rest of the season with the Lakers, but he would have been a decent bet. I personally am a believer in Oni, but if Quin has given up on him there is no point to him being on the roster. We need to snatch up a player with a Hinkie special.
 
Bad news in CLE, looks like Rubio may have had a serious knee injury. Dude can't catch a break..

The Cavs definitely need another guard. Garland is their only playmaker on roster right now.
 
I still like Cedi Osman. He'd give us a little more size and athleticism on the wing without screwing up our spacing and ball movement. He'd fit in here.

true, GSW's offense is just perfect for guys like GPII or even Shaq because they don't require their guards to stick to their specific roles or positions. Their big men like Bjelica and Draymond are actual playmakers with three point range who could help spread the floor and provide their guards with the opportunities to to make backdoor cuts and score inside. But since we work with traditional big men like Rudy/Whiteside, our guards need to be either the one initiating offense or capable shooters to make use of the pick and roll.
