Trade deadline discussion

We ****ed this up so badly. Just move after move that probably tanked our chances.

I'm not going to pick on Conley because y'all know my thoughts on that trade. But the response after?
Signing Favors to that deal then having to dump a 1st with it?
Signing Ed Davis to a solid deal then having to use an asset to dump?
Keeping Bradley around too long only to use an asset to dump him?
Not trading Clarkson this summer when he had really good value?

Add all that to how badly we drafted by not taking Bane or Herb Jones.

Another wasted opportunity.
Even before that... sitting on the Favs Ricky Rudy configuration even though we saw how well it worked having a shooter on the court. I could have understood trading Ricky or Favs... but just running it forward was crazy town. The infatuation with Exum and keeping him over Jae. Not moving him when reports were we could have for solid value. Letting cap space die on the vine multiple years in a row. Not using MLE and other cap exceptions just cuz.

Then all the ******** you mentioned. ANGER

I keep thinking back to the summer the Jazz signed Uncle Jeff and Ed and wonder if the team would have been far better off signing neither and allowing our back up center core to be Bradley and Willie Reed and signing George King to a contract. All of the asset burning and dumping could have been avoided allowing a real trade to be made later in time.
Or if you do sign a veteran center to a two year deal... maybe don't pick up the option on the struggling young center you clearly don't believe in.

Conley deal was the best move the FO made in a while. It's still an extremely good trade for the Jazz.

The issue is how many assets they used up on backup center over and over again. That's really it. Anything else is nitpicking and having unrealistic expectations about how much a FO can get right.

Dude, take a break from posting for a while.

If you honestly think our FO and coaching staff care more about catering to Don than winning a title, you're just "lost the plot" as they say.
Nah, stick to your terrible trade ideas and I'll stick to my calling it as it is.

Absolutely right. We knew without a doubt that Favors didn't work next to Rudy for playoff success yet we tried to force feed it for years.

Ugh, and the Exum experiment. That second contract was awful.

We can throw up a 3rd statue for ineptitude - one for Stock/Malone, one for Deron/Booz/Okur and one now for Don/Rudy.

We are about to waste the trade value of Mike and Bojan, and before long, Rudy's contract will be an issue.

Please tell me you’re joking?

Has not been this way for decades
Nope, I believe in Brown's potential more than Donovan's. I think Brown still has levels he can evolve to.

I think Don is what he is for the most part. He's a top 25 player who can have burst of GOAT level play, but at the end of the day being 6'1 is being 6'1.

Give me the bigger player, especially considering we could get additional assets with Brown to fully build the team out to an actual contender.

Just my opinion.

Uncle Jeff was a good signing... Quin gave him the Rudy Gay minutes but DL thought the negative valued Rayjon Tucker was better

What you're going to do is play this victim card over the next few years. We'll disappoint and not progress. Instead of pointing out the obvious that Conley wasn't there when we needed him to be and the trade to get him sapped our resources, you'll create some narrative that this window got wasted because we catered to Donovan Mitchell. It is a lie now and will be a lie when you try to spin it years from now.

We didn't truly contend for a title because we screwed up pre-Conley. We screwed up with the Conley deal because he simply hasn't been there. We screwed up bringing Favors back. And we drafted horribly when we could have fixed all the mistakes through excellent 2nd rounders.

Conley's a great player and our best hope as is. If he can never stay healthy in the playoffs it is what it is. It's worth the risk. He's that good and you consistently **** on him and act like he's trash. Go back to making a billion post about how badly you want to trade Conley for Julius Randle and get off my nuts.

Like I said before, Conley is good but not that good. kinda like the jazz themselves as a team... GTFO now... everything people said about Conley here, they are really talking about the MVP candidate, 12*allstar, 10*all-nba and 9*all-nba defense Chris Paul, who's basically transformed the suns since he got there.

Conley isn't that for the jazz... like at all. have we not made that trade for him, we will still be in a similar position, but Memphis won't be in nearly as strong of a position as they are now.
