Trade Rumors Involving the Jazz

I’m sure someone has mentioned this, but we should get in a three way where Olynyk and Crowder go to Miami, Beasley goes to Phoenix, and we get firsts from both teams.

Clips schedule is brutal before AS break. I'd grab that pick swap now if we really want it and if its on the table.

If you did the clippers deal we are like 1.5 games out of the 8th spot. It would likely send us spiraling a bit. IF we did not spiral it is because Collin or NAW or THT emerged as a viable starting option... so kind of a win win.

I honestly don’t think we drop much if Conley is traded. But I think the increased opportunity for Sexton/NAW/THT/Ochai is more important than whatever development gains we have from Conley being around and the W/L is the least important factor.

NAW has actually been a pleasant surprise this year, I wish he wasn’t getting squeezed out. He’s kinda like Niang 2.0 but we need to seize the opportunity to get him on a long term allow money deal.

Sexton has averaged 17/5/2 on 55/39/87 shooting in 10 games as a starter this year. I think he is more than capable of being the starting PG when the time comes.
I’m a big Sexton fan and agree he’s much better than most give him credit for.

That said, he had that one game mid-way through this year where he really focused on facilitating and getting the offense working. But just that once.

I know he can, just gotta see more, OR put him with a bigger, facilitator, 2 guard like an Ingles type….or Anthony Black.

I don’t think he’s ever going to be the guy you want starting, but it’s worth finding out and giving him more opportunity will only boost his stock.

The alternative is we play Conley, log gam the guard situation, and maybe we win more games. The starting lineup was dominating with Sexton so there’s no guarantee we are actually worse without Conley.

I’m way more inclined to see explore what we have with Sexton than to see what we can salvage with Conley.

I think in the long term the Jazz will focus heavily on positional size in the starting lineup and will want a bigger point guard. He will definitely work in the short term if Mike is traded.

If a 6’2 PG is your shortest player it’s not a problem at all.

Disagree on Mike. I think we'd slide pretty hard. We are like 4-6 I believe with Sexton as a starter... one of the wins was the miracle GS game. I think NAW was on fire during that stretch so we may not have felt the full brunt of the injury. With the way Mike is currently playing his loss will be felt. Dev time for those guys is important so I'd agree there... and if we didn't fall off we will have learned something.

I don't think NAW is quite as good of a shooter as his percentages have been thus far but agree we should lock him up and it would be good to kick the tires a bit more. He could be a solid long term value play.

It's unbelievable how underrated Mike is.
