Trade Rumors Involving the Jazz

I agree if this is actually on the board its better. Contract baggage in both but I think Collins upside is best of this bunch.

Toppin feels like more of a prospect, but he's not that younger and we know Collins has reached a much higher level than he's at right now. If I had to bet on who ends up the better player definitely lean towards Collins. But Collins may just end up perpetually rotting in ATL by the looks of things.

Contract situation is not great for Collins, but it's a matter of opportunity cost and I don't think it's that big of a burden. If you're really banking on FA in summer 25 Collins might get in the way of your plans....but for me personally the concern is not enough to prevent me from getting John Collins.

What the hell is the deal with his finger? Is it fixable. If JC can’t shoot I have no interest in him… his shot seems to have disappeared and I wonder if it’s the wonky *** finger. Atlanta isn’t giving a pick though… so I think it’s a no go.

Similar to JC in that they both have arms and legs…..
What’s the nipple situation? Someone got a third? That’s prolly where this breaks down right?

I have no idea. Maybe it's a problem he can't fix, or maybe it's fixable and makes you feel better that he will eventually be able to shoot again once it's healed. Very much worth doing your homework on if you're going to entertain a Collins trade.

Quick google research and....does not look good.

The Knicks proposal might be interesting but have a feeling Hardy would play Fournier and we would hate it as much as watching Gay. From the eye test he's just playing out the string which is why they are willing to give up assets to move off his contract. He's also a guy who was never known to play much defense even when he was still in his prime. The draft capital would be key here as you just know he's going to pick up that 24-25 $19mil player option. The Jazz would have alot of dead salary on their books next season between Gay, THT, and Fournier unless they are able to move at least one of them in a trade this offseason.

Obi's shooting could potentially fit between Kessler and Lauri. He's still on a rookie scale contract so it's not like you are married to him like you would be with John Collins. Defensively not great. He has the athleticism but his lateral quickness is the issue. Not a perfect fit but still a closer than either Vando or KO at this point. Doesn't really solve any of the Jazz defensive issues but KO is a really low bar on that side of the ball. Actually OBI + Fournier combined contracts are approx equivalent to Collins' deal except the latter runs longer.

Snooping around, the Knicks would definitely NOT include Quickley or Grimes in this sort of trade which makes sense since they were even hesitant to include them in a Donovan deal.

Yeah I’m out… if the give a pick and he agrees to just chop the sucker off I’ll do it.
