Trade Rumors Involving the Jazz

He doesn't have the most important tool to be at least an average defender: will. If he can just turn his will on and off depending on if he wants to get someone traded or blow up the team, well he's not a real competitor and will never be even an average defender.
I guess will is not a "tool" but more of a mind attribute/faculty;)

Don just hasn't been happy. Unhappy players are often uninspired players. There are plenty of great talents who ebb and flow depending on the circumstances they are in.

Our circumstances the last couple years plus have been pretty bad. The whole covid thing. A piss poor front office that never added talent and threw away assets. An underachieving "3rd star". A coach who lacked leadership and flexibility. A bad relationship between the best two players. Joe getting hurt then dumped was just the icing on the cake.

Don has played defense fine in the past and he'll do it again. The overreaction to that part of his game around here is laughable.

Quin has coached great teams to great success and he’ll do it again. The overreaction is laughable. DL has built a franchise fantastically and he’ll do it again. The overreaction is laughable.

Why is your comment fair but the latter two aren’t?

Maybe Im slow but where is the "7picks" part coming from? I see 4 and Davion.
A pick swap with Sacramento historically would suggest a better pick coming your way. So, even though its not extra picks, the kings have only drafted higher than top 10 twice since 1013. There is a pretty good chance we can swap one of Minny picks for a serious upgrade which would otherwise cost us.

For me, I would rather have a swap with the kings every other year than two high picks in each draft.

Let's wait the result. But the article is a bit ridiculous. As soon as you trade one of your 2 best players, people will talk and you cannot avoid that. Nothing to do for me with the value we can expect from Don trade.
The only point that can be criticize for talking about how Don will react if he have to come back to Utah. 100% motivated? Not sure. At least his defense could not be worse than last year....

Our failures came because we never finished building a roster which is necessary to compete in the modern day playoffs. That's on DL despite the fact that he did make some very good moves starting the building process.

Quin is a very good coach who never had adjustments ready for modern day playoff basketball. Sure we could just blame it all on DL, but Quin never using crucial small ball tactics is on him.

But you never addressed the joy part of the game. Superstars in many sports can underachieve when there is no joy.

I agree with that. This year, they failed because no one was happy to be here. As Mike say, i'm here for a job... to win a championship, you have to be happy and ready to help your teammate. This year all players have just done the miminum. And for me you can blame the coach for that too. He should have take action, not let the team slide step by step....

Complete lack of leadership and adulthood then. This was our biggest downfall, no doubt. None of these guys were leaders, not a single player is/was mentally tough, not one. These immature players are getting paid a lot of money and to sit and pout instead of take the bull by the horns and give it their all, says everything about them.

If what you guys say is true, which I think it is, good riddance to every single one of them. Coach included.
