Trade Rumors Involving the Jazz

To get #7, the Jazz would need to trade Gobert (and get a package back that includes #7) or trade for John Collins and send Collins to Portland, imo.

What that post means is that the Blazers are going to try to compete with Lillard in the short term.

I would think so. I think 7 for Bogey is way too rich. I proposed the Milwaukee pick they own for Bogey and we get out of the tax completely. There may be some middle ground if they were to trade #7 to like OKC for #12 and Dort, or #12 and Williams plus a couple picks... then maybe #12 and Bledsoe is a fair deal. Bledsoe is non-guaranteed but to be traded they would have to guarantee the salary. If they waive him they really don't clear any cap space because of cap holds.

7 for 12 and Dort is something I’d jump on if I were them. That would be a good pickup.

OKC loves him. I doubt that is on the table unless Presti LOVES someone at 7... but they could do 12, 30, and another future first (they own 100) and add in Muscala and Williams. Then Porty can route 12 to Detroit (not sure if Grant is worth more or less) and they will add a couple rotation players plus a couple other small assets to help fill out the roster. NY could also do 11 and like AB/Noel... If I was Porty I'd find out what it takes to get Grant and maybe slide down the draft accordingly. 7 feels like a bit much but that might be what it takes... could see NOP having interest in him.

Here is a Portland trade idea that everyone (mostly) can hate. Royce to Portland for the #36 pick. They have a trade exception to use to take his salary in. Drops us under the tax. They need rotation pieces and Royce is that.

I hope everyone remembers that Emmanuel Mudiay was once the No. 7 pick in the draft.

For some reason picks seem to be considered gold right now. The draft is hit and miss. We should know this. If you look through the drafts there are a lot of players that don’t turn into much that are drafted high. Exum was a 4th pick I remember and look how that turned out.

If we stick to that method we can dump everyone and have some second round picks to play with and maybe a couple firsts

If our players are all really not worth a **** as it seems the more people talk here than the Jazz oughta just blow this mother up. By the time we are done wheeling and dealing we will be worst than before and still be working with mud round picks. The draft pretty consistently puts out good players in the top ten. After that you gotta get lucky. **** players and mid picks that require luck sounds like a long rebuild. Pull off the band aid already.
