Late firsts… per your logic. Don is under team control sure… so is KD… you apparently have no idea how the nba works cuz if a player says they want out… they generally get it. We are 12 months away from having extension convos… when those go south you risk losing him for less… plus the year you wasted… plus the good players you didn’t trade for draft capital. He’s a depreciating asset… as time ticks on that deal you are more likely to get less… I’d resolve it in the offseason… Miami… NY… Brooklyn… whoever.

When did KD get traded? I must have missed it. When George, Davis, and Harden literally just forced their way out to their preferred teams they all got back monster trade hauls. The Knicks just essentially traded away two lottery picks to sign Jalen Brunson, finding #1 scoring options at age 25 that have proven for a half decade they can be the guy on one of the best teams in the league aren't easy to come by.

Can't accept that there's potentially a significantly better package than one built around Herro/Duncan at a super max price point based on a hypothetical situation you built in your head, lol.

DA isn't going to rush to move Donovan, the Nets aren't rushing to move KD. You don't trade off your best players for mediocre returns because you're scared of 3 years from now.

I think Timberwolves are wanting to push all their chips in for a chance at a title. It was mentioned on NBA today that another west conf team that doesn’t have any draft picks asked about Kyrie. D’Angelo for Kyrie as the base of the deal works.
