Late firsts… per your logic. Don is under team control sure… so is KD… you apparently have no idea how the nba works cuz if a player says they want out… they generally get it. We are 12 months away from having extension convos… when those go south you risk losing him for less… plus the year you wasted… plus the good players you didn’t trade for draft capital. He’s a depreciating asset… as time ticks on that deal you are more likely to get less… I’d resolve it in the offseason… Miami… NY… Brooklyn… whoever.You have 3 years of Donovan under team control, $45M in cap space, and 3 1st round picks next year. Not to mention a ton of future draft assets and expiring deals with guys like JC/Conley. If that's the best package on the table you simply hold onto him and try again later.
