Considering the Jazz have a roster spot occupied by a guy that isn't playing but will get paid all the same; If it's Murphy, the guy just must be a douche or sucks even in practice. I suppose with Burks being able to play the 1, Earl Watson has become completely useless even as a stop-gap. No way is it Tinsley.
Anyway, I think this is a fascinating move. Very little downside, but the upside is significant. I have questions about his shooting, though (as it seems to be almost impossible to find an athlete that wants to do dirty work and can also shoot). Fortunately, improving a jump shot is easier than turning someone into an athlete or teach them heart.
I think we're using the rest of the season to evaluate personnel. This is going to be an interesting summer.
I'm envisioning some type of Jazz Survivor scenario. For every third loss KOC votes a guy off the island and replaces him with a D-Leaguer. Today Rodger, next week Watson, then who? This board would explode!!! It might make going to some of the games interesting too.
Tinsley must have done something we don't know about. Tinsley has been playing better than Watson. I think there is more to the story. That would make more sense of his sudden removal from the line up.
WTF????? Jody Genessy @DJJazzyJody 1 minute ago No roster moves for the Jazz, according to team's PR.
Well Tinsley has been known to act up. My guess is that the Jazz felt he was being a bad influence on some of the younger guys. Maybe he was going out drinking with them.
Hoping this is a sign of things to come this summer. Sign cheap guys, keep cap space, 1-yr contracts etc unless we somehow land somebody huge. With Marvin, we have ~$25.5 mil next year with 6 guys. Sign DeMarre, and a few 1-yr contracts with the remaining $ to get to the minimum ~$50 mil. Hopefully get some trade exceptions and be in a great position for opportunistic trades.
