I disagree. We were already headed down this path when millions of our fellow citizens saw the events on Jan 6 and after proclaimed, “Hell yeah! My life is so boring I need 4 more years of that ****. Politics is fun! Blow stuff up!”

Should Democrats resist?
This is the 2nd time in just my adult life that I’ve seen our country run off a cliff by a Republican administration, resurrected by a Democratic administration, and then the country becoming so bored with normal governance that they’ve elected an *** clown to “blow **** up.” Perhaps it’s time for the American electorate to receive good and hard what they’ve voted for rather than rely on Democrats to prevent Republicans from doing what they’ve promised to do?
I don’t necessarily disagree with you.
But due to the goldfish memory of the electorate, I do think there’s an open discussion as to whether or not Democrats should resist right now. We don’t have another election until 2026. Why not let President Musk and his butt plug have their way with the federal government? Enrich themselves, slash Medicaid, flood Central Valley farmers, tariff allies, and nuke hurricanes! MAGA!
If the electorate is this stupid, we don’t deserve self-governance. Just let whatever incompetent billionaire can fluff teevee Republicans rule.
Resisting makes sense. But to what end? So the dumbest electorate in the world, spoiled by too much peace and prosperity, can vote in another completely incompetent billionaire who promises to enrich their lives with more entertaining bigotry, misogyny, and hate? Perhaps we need a few decades of less than stellar freedom, economics, etc so that the electorate can be reminded of how fragile law and order, justice, freedom, etc really is. Right now we just assume that post Cold War peace and prosperity will never end, no matter how much we **** on our allies, kiss up to autocrats, and whichever *** clown we elect to govern us.
