Utah Jazz: #5 in Youth Talent

Asik is a great complement to Davis defensively. Davis weakness is in the post and that Asik strength. Omer will allow Anthony to roam on defensive and help him avoid banging against more physical guys. I expect a significant dip in Davis' rebounding as Asik is great there as well and the 2nd best rebounder on the team last year was our SF Aminu.

The concern is offensively. Davis is an OK jumpshooter, but most of his damage is done in the PNR as the roll man. Asik can't shot and won't force anybody out of the paint. Davis is have to get much more consistent with his jumper if he wants to see anywhere near the same numbers offensively. Which is just naturally likely to dip if guys stay healthy. All reports is Anthony is trying to add a corner 3 to his game. He'll need it when he's on the floor with Asik.

There were many rumors coming from the newsfeed guys watching USA practices that indicated AD did have a sweet touch from 3 and a good stroke added to that.

As a Pelicans fan I agree. And I'd add that I think Anthony Davis is being vastly overrated. Good player with some raw ability to be really good, but he is far to average to below average at too many areas of the game to think he'll ever be on the same level as the better player in the league. I watch him all the time as a Pelicans fan and I just don't get the insane hype.

Numbers IMO aren't a good barometer for overall greatness. You have to take into consideration what the team does and who else is on the team. Most NBA players can score if an offense is tailored to them and they don't have to really share the ball with other talented players looking to score. We were a terrible rebounding team that were without much of the scoring power we thought we would have due to injuries.

Davis is a player that was just in the prefect situation (a lot of that is his own talent) to be efficient. He's long and has good IQ and feel for the game so he gets a solid number of steals and a insane number of blocks. PER is friendly to those kind of measurable defensives stats. However Davis is a below average post and perimeter defender there's no stat to reflex that. On offense he's more of a PNR option than he is as an iso option. Decent face up, sub par post game, and below average jump shooter. He doesn't have great feet so the majority of the time when he's aggressive with the ball he ends up with an off balance shot when facing up or working out of the post. He's been able to some what off set his lack of coordination with his quick 1st step and great touch near the basket. Again he's good and when you have that much physical talent it's hard to really say what his overall potential is, but I don't recall players with poor coordination becoming greatly skilled offensively.

LMFAO

Bro. Just stop.

He isn't overrated.

AD is a future HOF in the making.

Am I the only person in the world that just isn't that impressed with what Orlando is doing?

They have absolutely no shooting. Kind of goes against where the NBA is going. Payton, Dipo, and Gordon will tear up teams with weak interior defenses though.

Out of the top 4 teams on this list, I think only the Pelicans deserve to be on it. Phoenix and Charlotte have/had some older players that really made their team's gel, etc.

My list would consist of:

Minnesota
New Orleans
Milwaukee
Utah
Orlando
Philly

^ no particular order. Jazz definitely have the most young quality talent (at least seven players who could be above average starters), but no one is close to an all star... Yet?... Ever? (Exum, and Burks have the most potential IMO).

AD is the ****, maybe you need to watch more of him. He's got the energy of Kennith Faried, Blocks of DH, and jump shots of KD. He's so young and he does those 3 things better than most of the people in the league. He's bulking up still too. If he can Improve his mobility and 3pt a bit like KD he's be one of my favorite players.

Can almost say the same thing about Hayward.

I'd agree with the Faried and Howard comments, but his jumper is not close to Durant.
