Numbers IMO aren't a good barometer for overall greatness. You have to take into consideration what the team does and who else is on the team. Most NBA players can score if an offense is tailored to them and they don't have to really share the ball with other talented players looking to score. We were a terrible rebounding team that were without much of the scoring power we thought we would have due to injuries.
Davis is a player that was just in the prefect situation (a lot of that is his own talent) to be efficient. He's long and has good IQ and feel for the game so he gets a solid number of steals and a insane number of blocks. PER is friendly to those kind of measurable defensives stats. However Davis is a below average post and perimeter defender there's no stat to reflex that. On offense he's more of a PNR option than he is as an iso option. Decent face up, sub par post game, and below average jump shooter. He doesn't have great feet so the majority of the time when he's aggressive with the ball he ends up with an off balance shot when facing up or working out of the post. He's been able to some what off set his lack of coordination with his quick 1st step and great touch near the basket. Again he's good and when you have that much physical talent it's hard to really say what his overall potential is, but I don't recall players with poor coordination becoming greatly skilled offensively.
