Utah Jazz Players in the FIBA World Cup(in China)

Joe Ingles 3 point % was terrible during the Olympics (4 of 24). Had he shot 30% they could have got the bronze.

Does anyone know how they use him on the team? Is he a 4?

He will play the 3, motem and bolden will likely play the 4 for us. Delly and Mills will be our starting backcourt and i think baynes will likely start at the 5 ahead of Bogut and Landale. Deng Adel will come off the bench on the wing i reckon

How come Baynes plays for Australia? Isn’t he a kiwi?

Why did he shoot so poorly in 2016? Was he misused or was he just shooting poorly?

Just out of form i think, he had a fairly poor Olympics by his standards, from memory i think the twins were born just before the tournament. So I think he missed a bunch of training camp and stuff.

Born in NZ raised in Australia. Fairly common, NZ actually missed out on playing at a FIFA U19 (i think) world cup cause one of their players was born in Australia, family moved to NZ when he was 1 or something and he was considered a dual national and ineligible to play for NZ due to his Australian citizenship. Even tho he had Kiwi citizenship and had committed to play for NZ, he had to wait til 21 or something. Fiji or Vanuatu protested and they were excluded from the qualifying tournament, FIFA being FIFA applied their ridiculous rules over common sense.

I just hope no one gets injured playing in what is basically a meaningless tournament in the big picture.

Doesn’t mean anything for NBA directly but some players build a lot of confidence with a medal and a lot of authorities definitely take it as a factor of recognition so it would indirectly help the Jazz to have the leading player on their team that brings the gold.
