If Neto is traded, he can't be re-signed as a FA, IINM, for at least 1 year. Raul probably signs for less than market value due to his allegiance to Gobert. He'd be a great keep at ~$3M. He won't be traded unless a team insists as part of a larger deal.

If you trade or cut someone you can’t resign them in that same year. They define year by start of first game and when you are out of playoffs or season has ended. That makes it curious if we traded Thabo or JJ during the draft and the team waived them, we could just resign them based on vague language.

If we win, I think we should maybe do a minor deal like trade Burks, Joe Johnson or maybe Neto. We could make the argument that we need continuity since we have a 6 game win streak and Exum close to returning. If we lose, we should be aggressive with any opportunity. Keeping everything intact trying to make up a 5 game deficit to be anything better than the 8 seed is just ludicrous. Get assets for expirings. Be opportunistic.

I know they won't look at it like that, but if we are debating a trade with this guy or a trade with that guy, use the Monday night game as the tiebreaker.

Disagree. We'll be going for playoffs no matter what happens against NOLA. We'll still look to move Burks and Johnson, most likely, and I'm guessing they're looking for good value for Hood, but I don't think anything significant happens.
 
Favors and Rubio are not going anywhere now. They've both proved vital in our current win streak. Hood, Burks and JJ are all still a good chance at being moved though.

I agree that we are going for the playoffs no matter what. My point was this - if they are on the fence and don't know if they should trade a starter (and Favors is the only one), then use Monday night's result as a tiebreak.

From a fan's perspective, I could go either way with it. Favors helps us make the playoffs more that anybody except for an unlikely upgrade (Gordon for example). I also think his chances of staying are between 1 and 5%. However, I think it is massive for the culture of the team if we get to the playoffs or close. We got guys ready to win right now.
 
We are championship bound this season so I don't know what all the hub-bub is about. Our ascent through the rankings started about 5 games ago and will continue through the remainder of the season. Better Take note before it's too late.

I said in my post that I don’t think that they will.

Just that if they did it wouldn’t be a big deal. He is very replaceable. Especially when X comes back. Btw, I think that spida can play point guard too (and he does).

Yah if you want to play a shorter rotation, which the Jazz dont want to yet.

It would make no sense to trade him and it would upset the locker-room.

Rubio was never going anywhere. Unless his salary was needed for unexpected blockbuster deal that brought us a star. Favors could still be moved it just depends on whether the right deal is available. DL isn't making moves based on a winning streak or a losing streak. It's all about the bigger picture.
 
What is Hood’s value?

Read an article where the Philly writer suggested a 1st round pick, Richuan Holmes, and either TLC or Korkmaz.

I’d have no interest in Holmes, but I’d consider it for the 1st round pick, TLC and Jonah Bolden. Would something like that be a good enough deal?

I’m assuming that the Jazz would be concerned about paying Hood next year.

They’d essentially be trading paying $15 million + to Hood by adding three guys for under $7 million. If one of those guys breaks out then it’s a good trade, right?

Not necessarily advocating that, but I found it interesting. Think it’s more interesting since O’Neale looks like he can hold down the 6th man role if needed.
