Just Cause 2.
 
Maybe. I haven't played Just Cause 2, yet, or Just Cause 1 for that matter, but I do hear there's a big difference between the two.

Still, a small sample size.

Anyway, I usually don't get sucked up into the hype games generate before they're out. I'll usually rely on review scores around the internet and gameplay videos to see if I want to play it. If it gets good scores and the videos look decent, I'll check it out.

Glitchy, laggy. Some really bad level design.

I couldn't disagree with Unlucky more. I LOVE Civ IV and Civ Rev. I pre-ordered my copy through Best Buy over a week ago thinking they would do what Amazon does and have it here today. Wrong.

Anywho, it does take some time to figure everything out. I would check out some of the Civ dedicated websites and DO NOT start on the medium difficulty like you would on most games. Finally, I hope you have some self control.

NBA 2K11 just came out today and IGN is calling it not only the greatest basketball game, but the greatest sports video game of all time. They rated it a 9.5/10. I'll always hate MJ, but this game looks too good to pass up. 2K has always been better than EA...and even EA knows it. NBA Elite's release date has been pushed back all the way to March 31, 2011 (if at all). Apparently the demo that was recently released has been hammered. I haven't personally tried it, but it wouldn't surprise me given their past products.

I think EA would probably just be better off sticking to NBA Street and NBA Jam. 2K is progressing while EA is regressing.
 
So EA doesn't even make NBA Live games anymore, or this is that same game just with a new title? Who wants a basketball simulation game at the end of March? That does sound a bit gloomy. I'm definitely getting 2K11 as well.
 
I bought NBA Jam today.

The example art for getting "on fire" is Kobe torching the Jazz. I about threw my Wii remote through the TV. Also, there's a boss battle where you face Karl Malone and he has super shoving power. Haven't been able to beat that so far.

I've been playing Civilization 5 non-stop for about a week. I don't like it as much as 4, but that doesn't seem to stop me. This Civ series is seriously crack in video game form. I am currently recovering from a *massive* war against Japan. I'm a little worried about Bismarck, because the great wall of Germany is right up against my borders and I can see them amassing trebuchets and crossbow artists over there. It's going to be at least 12 turns before I can get sufficient defenses into that part of the country.

There's a map-type called Terra, in which you, and every other civilization, begin in "the old world," while a new continent -- full of barbarians and resources but otherwise untouched -- waits for whoever can get there first. I liked the idea of it, but I'd always win those games because, knowing it was there, I'd rush to gain the ability to cross the ocean. Now there's a mod somebody made called Terra Incognita, which is the same concept but about a thousand times better, because it generates a much more random "new world." You don't know what's over there. Could be continents, could be archipelagos, a few islands... might be nothing at all. It makes for a far more interesting game. So if any of you are playing Civ 5, may I recommend that mod.

EA changed the name of their basketball series to NBA Elite because they basically started over from scratch. However the game wasn't coming along quite as well as they'd hoped, and that paired with the negative fan reaction to the demo they released two weeks ago caused them to "indefinitely delay" NBA Elite 11. EA still put out NBA Jam for the Wii this week, and it'll be hitting 360 and PS3 by the end of the year. As far as NBA Elite 11 is concerned, they haven't announced a firm release window for it, but I wouldn't be surprised if they just decided to give themselves another year of development time, scrap the idea of NBA Elite 11 and just go straight to Elite 12.

With the extra time, NBA Elite could end up a somewhat decent basketball game. The project lead is the same guy who revamped EA's NHL games, a series that's now so good that it forced 2K to take a year off from making their own NHL games (outside of the Wii versions) just so they had a chance to compete with EA.

I've got two games going right now. One I started on the Earth map, as the Iroquois and it dropped me smack dab in the middle of Europe surrounded by the Nobunaga, Montezuma, Askia, and Darius. Nobunaga did a bunch of work on Darius, so I jumped in and ended up taking 3 cities. Later, he went after the capital and I jumped in after 1 turn of Nobunaga attacking and took it. Next, I expanded to the "New World" and met your boy Bismarck. I settled a colony to get coal and made it about 30 turns before ALL of them declared war on me.
