We need a backup Center

For a moment I kind of forgot Ed Davis was still on the team.

Had to stop and think if he had really been traded or just internet traded.

Yep! A 35 years old center who is slow afoot, can't shoot at all and is injury-prone is just what the doctor ordered.
Comon man. Can't you see every basketball center on earth is better than Tony Bradley? Let's get that Zhou Qi guy from China and collect some all-star votes

If they can get just one guy, I'd try to find someone who can play both 4 and 5. I thought Bradley looked promising the few minutes I've seen him. If he plays MORE, and plays good, maybe the refs give him more respect by the end of the season.

Bradley is done as a back-up. You can't keep running him out there, especially when the schedule starts getting tougher.

I think you give Morgan a 2-3 week audition up to the trade deadline while continuing to look elsewhere.

I like Bogut. One thing I haven't seen mentioned is Bogut is also a master screener on a Rudy level - The Jazz offense will be a screen assist machine with Bogut and Rudy at the 5 for 48 minutes.

But ideally you want someone who can give you up to 16 minutes every night - will he be up to the task?

Even 10 minutes would be huge. He was able to do that for GSW last year.

I hadn't realized that The Suns gave up a 2020 First Round pick for Baynes.

It has minimal protection - top 7. Right now Phoenix is around the 11th or 12th slot.

So, as of now it looks like Boston is going to get a lottery pick for Baynes. Yikes, a 34 year old back up center (and Ty Jerome) for a lottery pick?

Point being, while I expect Baynes (a UFA) will be on the block, I wouldn't expect The Suns to just flip Baynes over to Utah for a song and dance. If there are other suitors, and there probably will be, Jazz will get outbid.

Was Phoenix’s plan to just get Ty Jerome, though? Wasn’t there talk of them possibly waiving Baynes this summer?

They traded the first they got from Milwaukee and got a first in last years draft for taking Baynes salary... so they just rolled the pick up a year.

They stumbled in to Baynes it was a small salary dump. I don’t think they were ever going to waive him but they went and got Frank too... so I’m not sure they were all in on him being a part of their plans this year.

I wouldn't believe that for a second. They traded for the 24th pick for a potential lottery pick and a cast off? I don't even think The Knicks would do something like that.

I watched plenty of Celtic games last year. Baynes is solid. Perfect back-up for a up and comer like Ayton.

And Jerome is a second round talent that was over-hyped because of Virginia's run in the tournament.

I'm sorry, but I just think it's funny that nobody complained about Bradley during our winning streak and now we lose one stinking game and everybody wants to pin it on Bradley. Why because he got his shot blocked on a pn'r? By a very athletic big in Jaxson Hayes. But you know what, Hayes can't carry Bradley's jockstrap on the low post or on the rebounding end. This guy was good enough to anchor our bench that's been stellar throughout our win streak. Regardless how forumites want to characterize him he's really quite fundamentally sound and had at least one nice tip-in last night (had some transmission issues on my feed so I missed a few plays). I know everybody on this forum has always dumped on him since we drafted him, but watching the Orlando game the other night I learned that Bradley was considered a stud in High School. Playing for Bartow High School, Bradley was bestowed the honor of best High School basketball player in the State of Florida with the 2016 Florida Mr Basketball Award.

If we had unlimited funds or disposable salaries that matched up that would be one thing to get a player of say Dwight Howard's ability. But we don't and I think our main priority should be to find somebody that can play some power forward and perhaps provide assistance on the ADs, LAs, KPs, and maybe even BI's of this league this season.

I’ve been complaining about him for a long time. I’ve also been complaining about needing to upgrade Mudiay and Jiang for a long time. The win streak blinded some people to those weaknesses, and it also blinded people to how much we’ve needed Conley, but I’ve consistently been saying this, as have others, it’s just that now people may be a little more receptive. But don’t worry. We’ll win a few games and people will revert back to forgetting what these concerns are. Until the playoffs, at least.
