Yup, Libertarian. I view corruption of the government as worse than an individual’s moral failings. When an elected official campaigns on the promise of using the position of power to prosecute a political opponent for a crime that she’ll find later, I have a problem with that. When a state changes the law to facilitate ex post facto prosecution of one guy, I have a problem with that. You want Mayor Pete in prison and you're cool with Trump in the White House. Cool, yeah, I already knew who you were.
I don’t think paying to have sex with a porn star while your European mail-order wife is pregnant with your kid is a good thing, but I view that as less bad than the FBI knowingly taking in a made-up dossier to use to harass and prosecute the political opposition.
If Trump started using the power of his office to prosecute his political opponents for the crime of being his political opponents, as many on your side claim he will, then I will stand alongside you to condemn him for it. However, if the Chief Executive orders a broad investigation into corruption of his branch of the government, and that investigation finds corruption, then I’m all for rooting it out.
Why did the DOT treat Tesla different than other American car manufacturers? That they did is not in question. They did. Why? I think most on the right, left, and center believes it was because Tesla was anti-union. The democrats in power receive a large amount of campaign donations from unions, and to curry favor, they were unfairly discriminating against a company who was anti-union. That has the smell of quid pro quo corruption.
