Next season, I want Royce shooting those threes when he gets the ball. Needs confidence because he’ll pass up the shot with someone ~5-7 feet away and drive a few feet in before passing or handing off.
Quin's strategy is going to need to figure out how to do it without Gobert. Gobert is a liability in this matchup. They just pick and roll to get the switch so that Gobert ends up guarding either Paul or Harden and he has no chance of stopping them. That and they have bigs who can hit threes and even run Gobert of the dribble.Just like with OKC, the focus should be trying to adjust and steal game 2. If not that, win at home and hope to wear them out (and get healthy) before game seven.
Tbh, the Jazz aren’t as outgunned as I expected them to be if Rubio is healthy. Just can’t come back with crappy game plans. Coaching is going to be critical. Quin needs to figure out how to counter what the Rockets want to do.
He did few things alright and that defensive possession vs Harden was good. But he absolutely kills our half court offense with endless pounding of the ball. Plus other team just drops off him and dares him to shoot and he does not or if he does he bricks it as he has no confidence in his own mid range or 3 pt shot whatsoever. So its like playing 4 on 5 with him. He does better in run and gun type game where there is no difficult sets and all he needs to do is to drive to the rim or drive and kick. But that type of game is not our strength and we won't outrun Houston for 48 min.. So Neto is much better fit for what we are hoping to achieve vs Houston.Am I the only one who thought Exum had a decent game today? Maybe I missed some things, but overall I thought he played solid defense (one possession against Harden really stood out) and he had a few good drives and finishes.
No, you play Gobert. Jazz can't go away from their biggest strength. You win or lose with Gobert. You arent benching (or playing him less minutes) your star player to experiment with lesser talent.Quin's strategy is going to need to figure out how to do it without Gobert. We don't have any fast big men, so we probably have to play small to steal a win or two against this Rockets team.
