Western conference semi-finals: Game 1 — Jazz @ Rockets 4/29/18 1:30 pm MST

Talk about being a prisoner of the moment.

Gobert has a bad game and he is now worthless.

Lol, thats ridiculous.

Gobert is gonna beast next game. I guarantee it.

I wonder what the shortest turnaround time in league history is for a playoff game. That **** was 36 and a half hours, basically a back-to-back.

I'm not bummed the Jazz this one, I am bummed that Donovan sprained his ankle.

I"m not too mad. Unless the Jazz can play over their heads and force the Rockets into not playing to their level, the Rockets are simply a better team. It pains me a bit to say that, but the truth is the truth.

We need to take this series as a test to see what we need to improve in to compete with the top team.

Obviously development and experience are needed, and this whole playoff run gives us a lot of that.

I'd like to test people like Exum because we have a big decision coming in the offseason on his contract.

Houston is the best team in the NBA right now, and I'd like to see how far behind we are.
With Ricky, and Thabo maybe this is a close game? It really sucks that we dont have some of our key rotation players,
but we can still learn a lot.

Guess we can say the Hood-for-Crowder trade has worked out for the Jazz.

Last I looked Hood played 7 mins and scored 0 points. He really is a roll streaky kind of player. His roll is less with them than us.

I wonder how he feels about "The Land" now...?

You guys seem to really hate X.
Turnovers can be fixed morons.
Fudge, he played some pretty awesome defense today and was the only player that consistently got in the paint.
Friggin blind people. There is stuff to work with.
Who cares though, kind of hope he goes somewhere else. Maybe he will bust out. But turnovers can be fixed.
Whatever

Yeah, I don't get why we don't make more use of a player that shoots 40% from 3. That's a head scratcher for me. Also, I think he plays Chris Paul better than anyone on our team.

It's called NO VOLUME. How useful are Neto's stats really? He has played like 5 minutes. You guys are seriously crazy if you want to cash in Xman for midget Neto. Whatever

Exum is ****ing trash, hope he proves me wrong one day but hope it's not here.

There is no ****ing way you could be basing that on today's game.
Unless, you think player's are busts when they make careless turnovers?

Do yourself a favor and go back and watch him D up Harden three times. Go back and watch how many times he waltzed into the paint. Go back and watch some of his nifty work that was unfinished.

Exum just needs more time on the floor. His shot will come. It looked good in summer league.

If we make the right move and resign him, he will develop into a weapon here.

Talent and skill is NOT the issue. His durability is the only concern I have.

He did few things alright and that defensive possession vs Harden was good. But he absolutely kills our half court offense with endless pounding of the ball. Plus other team just drops off him and dares him to shoot and he does not or if he does he bricks it as he has no confidence in his own mid range or 3 pt shot whatsoever. So its like playing 4 on 5 with him. He does better in run and gun type game where there is no difficult sets and all he needs to do is to drive to the rim or drive and kick. But that type of game is not our strength and we won't outrun Houston for 48 min.. So Neto is much better fit for what we are hoping to achieve vs Houston.

Neto is a midget with short arms who Houston’s players will just shoot over however well he defends them.

Exum wasn’t great the last 3-4 OKC games buy today he was ok, I just didn’t see the endless dribbling. The clumsy turnovers are painful but the whole offense was disjointed without preparation time, to blame him for the offense seizing is ridiculous. He did a good amount of positive things. His lack of confidence really sucks and unfortunately I think can only be fixed with minutes thru the regular season.

there are two things we can control that will make the game alot more competitve.. first is what we should be able to do is rebounding. We cannot afford a smaller houston team to outrebound us in such a manner, its a sure shot recipe to lose..we need to hit the rebounding hard,, thats the ultimate sign of who wants it more.. the other is turnovers.. this one is hard to control as we have no legit pg, but should still be better then 18.

Even in this ******** video, his landing foot is so delayed that even Stevie Wonder can count the three steps Harden takes. If his two feet actually land at the same time he does his jump hop, that shot would be more difficult to make and much easier to contest.

Yeah, this whole move of Harden's is an insult to the game. I cannot believe the NBA allows him to do it. It's one thing to get an extra step in traffic heading to the basket. However, this is a blatant travel. He pulls up his dribble, sets, then hops back with both feet, then shoots the ball. Any regular fan of basketball, youth, high school, college, etc. sees that and immediately questions the legitimacy of the NBA. With all the star treatment and simple nuances of the NBA game already going on, this just seems over the top in favor of a star of the game. While we are at it, why don't we let Embiid play without getting 3 seconds called on him. It's about as fair.

That's fairly common. It happens almost every year.

We finished our media obligations at 1:30am CST. We played 37 hours later at 2:30pm CST. On top of that, we had to travel. Show me another situation where there was that quick of a turnaround for a traveling team.

Cleveland has to play two days later and travel, but they had media obligations Sunday until 4pm CST and will play Tuesday at 6pm CST. So our game started 37 hours later. Cleveland will play 50 hours later. 13 hours is a pretty big difference.

Im guessing there is stuff to work with for every player in the nba (after all, just to be in the nba they have to be pretty good athletes/basketball players) but having stuff to work with sometimes isn’t enough to make you a good nba player.

Bargnani had stuff to work with. He was tall as **** and could hit the three. Doesn’t make him a good nba player though.

Not shooting a lot doesn’t automatically mean when you shoot more you will get worse.

In fact some people believe that it’s harder to come in cold off the bench and only get a couple of shots and have no chance to get in a rhythm and a flow of the game.

His 3 horrible turnovers are part of the game too though. They contributed to his negative 7 while on the court.

Just watch him in half court more carefully. He takes forever before getting rid of the ball. In Jazz motion offense ball handler needs to make decisions quickly and swing the ball fast... Exum stops it badly. As I said he did much much better in run and gun stretch we had.
