People who have no self awareness bug me. I don't know whether they are not bright or have a super high iq, but it just makes me think so much less of them.
For instance, I work with a guy who is always inconveniencing others, and acting like he is so nice and helpful. He is a huge jerk, but he is a really nice jerk, so nobody thinks he is really a jerk, they just think he is weird or annoying.

He always wants to switch days off with other people, and never offers to cover for them, but always whines about his schedule.
Then he takes like a whole week off to go support some dumbass rancher who lost his right to run cattle in the middle of some solar vortex or something.
Full disclosure: I made up that last part. Must have read it in a book somewhere or something.

Rush, Levine, and Savage, arguably, are drawing higher IQ audiences, leaving the mainstream with the dummies. . . . lol
Seriously, I think the staffing management at the mainstream values retailers selects for dummies, airheads male and female, who can mindlessly read scripts they don't understand. The days of Walter Cronkite, Dan Rather, and some other credibly intelligent news presenters, who could actually write their own scripts, are long gone.
Talk Radio today has the people with the intelligence. Argue it all you want. They still do thier own scripts, while the mainstream newsreaders do not.
another aspect of this is the market share, which has been dropping for years, and the large numbers of mocking fed-up former viewers of mainstream media and former readers of mainstream newspapers. Anyone who really believes these "sources" are credible, has got to be in a highly delusional frame of mind, if highly-endowed in IQ.
But, yeah, I get your point. If everyone watches/reads and relies on these "sources" we've been mesmerized into an "average" state of idiocy. . . . .
the media "high priesthood" of "news" managers are in many ways like the medieval clerics who propped up failed states by invoking God's sanction or authority for their government officials. . . Divine Right of Kings is directly comparable with highly selective reporting for favored political figures. . . .
