What does LeBron need to do to surpass Jordan?

I think that whole discussion is just a way to kill some time until the next draft.
I think LeBron James is a fantastic basketball player. He's expanding his game every year and I think he'll age very well in his 30s. He's a likeable public personality minus "The Decision". He's entertaining in many ways.
I think he's got the best physical tools I've ever seen in a player. He's 6'8, he's strong as a Center, mobile like some 2 guards if you factor in his body, he sees the floor like a point and now that he's getting a little bit slower as he ages he's expanded his shooting near to elite territory. You pair that with his very very good decision making and you have a hell of a baller. Right now if you make him take these midrange fallaway, stepback he hits them on a good clip. They're valuable shots if the rhythm of your offense isn't clicking if you need to regain some momentum. I'm looking at this season's shot chart: There's 2 shots he struggles with. Right wing 3s off the dribble and right wing mid range shots. That's the only area on the court where he's not at least average.
I think LeBron is a baller. He did a bad job of selecting his side kicks long term wise. Wade was already slowly declining(Not noticable for most of the public yet) and you just knew that Bosh couldn't play off the ball. But they were his national team buddies and now he's in that position:
Do I switch teams again if I'm not winning this year or do I stay patient have a couple mediocre years until we attack the free agents when Wade and Bosh expire? For his legacy he better stays in Miami. He swapped teams once and right now everybody is seeing how little BBIQ the Cleveland front office has. JR Smith would look like a genius besides them. Everybody understands with Chris Grant, Mike Brown and Dan Gilbert, there is no winning it all. But Pat Riley, Eric Spoelstra? Their management can sell their medium market to go over the tax threshold if contending is possible. Forcing every LeBron fan to buy a new set of merchandise, getting mocked at school and workplaces for team hopping a la "Why don't you go to another school, like LeBron does?" "Why don't you go work for another company? LeBron does it all the time..." That's not doing good for his fanbase and marketability. I mean LeBron is smart, even if he needs new sidekicks soon and pair them with the next wave of desperate, but still productive veterans, he can get it done. He'll take less money so these 7-9 year established guys can get their big contract. He knows he makes up for it with marketing deals. Every ring raises his public value more than the bird right 7.5% raises you can get in the league.
I don't see LeBron leaving Miami. Cause right now he's in a top5 organisation. To me top organisations are Celtics, Spurs, Mavs and the Heat. Maybe the Lakers, but with their new ownership structure and family conflicts I don't know if they're not getting closer to the Knicks: Much cash, no splash! I like the Pacers and Thunder but they're not the Spurs and if you don't have neither the fanbase, nor the ownership, only FO and coaching to make you look good. That's not top notch. So probably he'll stay put in Miami, wait for Bosh to go elsewhere, D-Wade to get a mini retirement contract that says: Play 40 regular season games and all the post season and get new sidekicks.

no he doesn't have physical strength like center. don't be silly

In relation to the rest of his body, he does. And strong as a PF is a phrase I wouldn't use because half the guys are court stretcher and play smart not hard. With successful Centers it's different.

more doesn't mean better. jordan never relied on shooting 3's. it's a different era. bron shot far more 3's than Bird too. and the way this era defends, players have far more less contested shots. i would still let jordan shoot the 3 in a key situation over bron. that's just me.

Maybe toward the end of his career, but for the majority of his career? **** no.

What if LeBron passes Kareem for most points scored all time? He's been the youngest to hit every point mark, so it's possible.

bron's doesn't have lower body strength to play against legit centers in today's NBA. let's not make him a super human. at the end of the day bron is 6ft 8 255lb. that's plenty big, but not big enough to play against any decent centers in today's nba.

i'll give you that, but jordan basically didn't shoot 3's at all early in his career. shooting 3's wasn't even an option for him. part era, and part his playing style. no reason for him to shoot 3 when he could get to the hoop at will.

bron can surpass jordan's career by winning 7+ championships with more mvps, etc, etc.

but bron will never be jordan at playing the game of basketball.

I guaranteed thay bron gets more mvps as long as he stays healthy

The NBA is tougher league to play in today. There are just many more highly skilled athletes in todays game who can rain down 3's.

I have not doubt in my mind that Lebron, Durant, and Curry, wouldn't have any problem dominating the **** out of Jordans era. I believe they would all average about 40 a game in Jordans era.

The game is advancing. It always has been.

That's certainly part of it, but it's also because he simply wasn't good at shooting the 3 till late in his career. If he was a good 3 point shooter, he would have taken more.
