OKC went from bottom dweller to playing playoff type basketball to end out the season (2010 or so?). They won a bunch of games to end the season and basically learned together what it took to close out games. They defined their style and the next year they made the playoffs with style. They created a mold for the Jazz. Build through the draft and then learn to win to build momentum for the next season.
We are there right now! It is a total party!!! I am soaking it up right now for sure. No more Corbin era, etc. No aim for mediocrity. We are focused on contending. Our style will be Hawksesque next year methinks. That doesn't mean that we are suddenly contenders, but we will be in the playoffs next year without adding another piece so long as we stay injury free and play like we have for the last 6 weeks.
It will take more internal improvement (EXUM!!!, Hood, & Alec Burks in particular) to have a contender. A deeper bench wouldn't hurt, but I don't think it's an issue in the core. It's more about the ability to get calls, close out games, continue being defensive juggernauts, and continued internal development (Go Coach Q).
