What's new

Who in the FRUMP are we actually going to beat?

The Jazz aren't getting killed on the boards. That should give them a chance to be competitive every night. They need a shooter or two on the floor though, and Corbin needs to run some legit plays.

Welcome back bro, I mean bra.
Yep. Starters will compete hard and bench will give up leads or extend deficits. Not sure who is predicting 45 wins...that ain't happening. Doubt the Jazz can slip below the 76'ers, Suns and Celtics, but beyond that, who knows? Wiggins would be a dream come true. But I'll also be thrilled with Parker, Randle, Exum or a few others.

After all these years, people still take preseason as a base for their arguments about the upcoming regularity. Even for your offensive team favorite Kanter is not pushing it even a bit yet. I'm sure Favors is like that too. Most of these guys are regular starters for the 1st time in their careers. So they are thrilled to play some serious ball. Stoked if you will. They only need a mentally strong coach. If they have it too, they achieve much more than what they already will in this season that they're gonna surprise many.

For starters, I think we beat OKC without Westbrook on opening night. I expect the team to win 22-24 games at home while beating some of the best teams in the league. I think we will really struggle on the road and get blown out by 20+ in a dozen or so games. I would be shocked if we win more than 11 or 12 road games. I don't see any feasible way we win under 30 games unless we have a major injury to Favors, Kanter or Hayward. With those three healthy for 70+ games I think we'll be no worse than .500 at home. Overall I think we'll finish with about 34 wins.

The Jazz can beat anyone on any given night like any NBA team.

The bolded teams are ones that the Jazz should have a reasonable chance against anytime they play. Where as teams like Miami, Chicago, Memphis and OKC are more unlikely.
Reasonable chance against Denver?

Denver, Toronto, Detroit and probably the re-tooled Pelicans shouldn't be on that list. You've omitted Orlando for some reason. With that said, There's not a single team in the league that's clearly worse than the Jazz.

I don't buy I to Toronto as much as others. Utah has had Detroits number for years. I think we spilt our games against them. Denver is a stretch, granted. But 2-2 against them is reasonably possible.

Pelicans are new and upcoming. The will take time to be awesome. Just like Utah.

HOW YOU LIKE ME NOW!!!

This post was better than predictive text. Dalamon... any response to your last comment?

And I repeat... who in the FRUMP are we actually going to beat? I think the list is shrinking in folks minds. Hip hip for DL. He's a real swinger. Swinging for the fences with an entire year of suckiness in exchange for a suckle on the draft TEE-double-EEE-double-EEE-double-EET. Whoa momma.

Wonderbra out... or is it off? I prefer the latter.

Do we have a prophet among us?

I feel like Babe Ruth when he pointed at the far fence. Only... this time it was more like pointing at the dirt by my feet. GO CORBIN!

I mean... GO AWAY CORBIN!

Supporting through the saggy years! - Bra out
