I know we dont have anywhere near enough threads about CJ so I figured I better get another one going. Not to mention the fact that we haven't had enough polls so here you go.

Who thinks we should keep CJ. And why?

(to clarify because what you can put in the lines for the polls are limited in space, just assume that any option involving keeping him assumes we take the extension)

Cheese.

*Edit*
I voted before you put your poll up, but it's still my option. I'm vegetarian, so cheese>chuckers

I don't, but I do think they should pick up the option and trade him.

ditto. Not picking up the option makes no sense.

But, as I've said before, I have too little hope in the state of our wing play.... too shallow all the way around... I've been bracing for his return.

I don't give a damn how, when, where, or why -- just make sure he's not wearing a Jazz uniform next year.

Put Chucker on a ship. But we won't, he'll come back next year trying to develop consistency, taking away minutes from those actually capable of consistency.

And then he'll get a slightly larger 3 year deal, because he had a good game or two. And the cycle will continue.

The Cycle of the Clank.

Sounds like our "plan" with AK this summer too.

I'm not opposed to re-signing him, but only so long as (1) he does not start, (2) he is not counted on to be a primary scorer, (3) he does not take minutes away from Hayward or whatever other rookie or veteran wing we might get at the #6 (give or take) pick, and (4) Corbin does not feel obligated to give him playing time if he doesn't earn it. He will come cheap, and he can at times be a difference maker. As long as he's not THE MAN (whether in team structure or in his own mind), then it might work.

given the likelihood that we aren't headed anywhere next season, it isn't a terrible idea to bring CJ back and let him play the first 20-30 games. I don't think it is out of the question form him to look mostly good for that stretch and get us more value on the trade market as a result. If he could land us a 17-20th pick next year I'd be ****ing stoked.

I really don't want him taking shots away from our young core, it will just stunt their development. At the same time we do need a bench, so pick up the option and move him for something else if possible.

Picking up his option is an easy yes. I'm not even concerned if the Jazz trade him or not. A cheap wing is not a bad thing. Corbin really started cutting his minutes the last few games, and I would expect C.J. to have to earn more than 15 minutes of game time going into the year.

I'm for the Jazz picking up his option, seeing Ty and the team's direction at the start of the year, and making decisions on individual players (CJ, Devin, Big Al) once we see how it all works together next season, barring some no-brainer trade that falls into the Jazz's lap.

With the Jazz going nowhere next season, and with their current and future cap flexibility (no contracts guaranteed beyond the end of the 2012/13 season), I find it extremely hard to understand why so many around here are so eager to dump productive (this word really only describes Millsap...definitely not CJ) players who will have new roles and/or a low cap number next season. Very poor asset management by the knee jerk jazzfanz.

My vote goes to giving him his qualifing offer and then doing every thing possible to get something in trade for him by the deadline. But by the deadline I would like him gone. No signing him beyond this next year no matter what.
