Who wants it bad?

I knew we’d lose yesterday in the first quarter. There was a play where Donovan fell down on an drive, didn’t score, and didn’t make it back beyond half court to play defense because he didn’t care to. You can’t have that ****.

Being a leader comes with setting the example. You gotta think that kind of effort rubs off on the rest of the team. We need Quin to become Jerry Sloan right about now.

Maybe Rudy Gay will be the guy that lights the fire
He's here to win a championship
He is a HOF candidate and this might seal the deal for him

I am getting the feeling this team is disinterested and does not have a fire. Even Gobert, the most fiery one of the bunch, has just been whining about officiating instead of playing. It is pretty clear the NBA is getting back to the streetball officiating so they need to adapt to that and play with conviction. Enough of these weak drives and weak finishes. Get the contact and dunk through it for hell's sake. Go watch 100 hours of video of Malone forcing his way to the rim. But we are looking soft and fairly easy to throw off our game. Throw a good perimeter D at us and we wilt like spinach in a hot pan. We cannot adapt and find ways to do anything when the 3 isn't dropping or isn't there, and that is a problem. We lose our defensive intensity when we can't get a rhythm on the offensive end, and that is bad. We need to use tight defense to drive our offense, not the other way around. So much they need to work on. I really hope this is just a matter of the team coming together and learning to play together, but I fear this is an issue of coaching and will continue much more than we want it to this season. In short, I do not see a championship contending team out there. I barely see a playoff team. It is really disheartening after last season being so close.

The jazz have prioritized being healthy for the playoffs over actually playing hard to make the playoffs.

The good thing (also unfortunate reality of the NBA) is that RS games don't really matter. It's frustrating to watch, but there's not a whole lot the teams are playing for night to night.

The thing I worry about is bad habits. Complaining to the refs and not getting back on defense is a terrible habit. We also punt on any opportunity to improve on new tactics/strategy when the team is half assing all year long.

We are allowing softness to become part of our identity. Trade Bogey and get an enforcer on the team. We need another Crowder/Trevor Booker type real bad.

Know you want it bad when you’re stuck in the house.

It’s gotta start with the coach. The fine nine know for a fact that there is nothing they can do on court to lose their minutes. I mean Clarkson would be riding the pine if he played for Monte Williams among others. Not because he’s missing shots but because of his shot selection. It’s a caste system here, they are made men.

Has Snyder ever, in his tenure here, tinkered with a starting lineup? I mean it’s a double edged sword- it disincentivizes the starters and disillusions young prospects like Butler. Also BTW, has Snyder ever won a championship at any level? Missouri no, G League maybe?

Not to mention Quin's inability to make adjustments in the last couple of post-seasons. How many coaches have choked as hard as Quin in big games?

And pretty brutal how he yanked Butler for Forrest in that game where he had 9 minutes. I can only imagine how bitter Butler is.

Paschall sure looks like a prime candidate, he should probably be playing closer to 15-20 minutes instead of 10-15. He looked like the only one who gave a damn out there.
But also trade Bogey.

Thank You!!! My main frustration is the coach! I like our players, I just think they could do more under better leadership!

PS Damn autocorrect!!! I swear I wrote Clarkson!

I love our team and I love their advocacy for worthwhile causes. Just some good dudes.

But god-damn can they go whiney bitch mode when they aren’t playing well and calls aren’t going their way on the court. We can all forgive poor play in a mostly meaningless regular season game against the Pacers, but the mental midgetry and whiney-baby attitude is not an attribute of championship basketball.

C’mon guys. Just take your lumps, learn from it, and move on! Don’t like how the refs are calling it? Too bad. Figure out how the game is being called and adapt.

Still no perimeter defense, and same attitude issues. I’m not feeling too great about where this is going.
