What's new

Why is this Jazz team so bipolar?

Actually, yes, I have been advocating that.

34 and 21 during an injury-riddled season. So melodramatic. Are you processing through this or are the emotions just flowing straight from the heart to the keyboard?
Yet we are now pretty much as healthy as any team. OK, we're better than .500 overall. I should have specified in the last 12 games Utah is .500. So Jazz got a little cushion playing the weaklings of the league and are now playing at .500 and struggling against any team over .500. You can say Denver got lucky or SA choked. Whatever. Jazz are losing home games - and not just close ones. They're being rolled right off the court.

The recent slump is strange, I mean we played some of our best games last week and now this happens.. Still in the long term I think we're pretty consistent overall which is backed by the data.

The thing is everything should be expected before the ASB. GSW was routed last night, the Spurs lost to the Knicks. MIA who was trying to tank won 13 straight games ffs. I'm saying let's wait before mid-March to have a clearer picture.

Bipolar is a good word for it. I'm totally vexed by the point variance between our wins and our losses recently. I thought we were starting to gel but sadly that apparently is not the case. Watching the Clipper game tonight, I was disappointed by how slow we were to the loose balls and rebounds and just how dominant DJ and Griffin were because of that. Hate to say it but I think we're still a roster tweak or two away from greatness.

Jazz still make the playoffs, which was one of the "baby step" goals for this season, but I'm definitely expecting a quick 1st round exit. We just continually disappear or not show up at all against playoff teams this season...

Sadly I'm starting to feel that way as well.

I'm still feeling good about things. First round will be a fight, but I think the Jazz have enough talent and depth to make a fight if it. Not sure they have enough star power to go much further than that though.

I'd like to see a small move (involving Mack, Withey or Diaw and a draft pick) for the playoff run, and then after they bring Hayward, Hill and Jingles back I want them to use all available resources to go after whoever is the biggest name on the market. Since they'll be cap strapped and picking late in the first round, I'm assuming that means they'll have to trade for someone. They have some good assets to work with. Use them, and build a big three of Hayward, Gobert and the new guy. Hill and Jingles back make two more and the Jazz should have some of Favors, Burks, Hood, Exum and Lyles to help fill out their long-term rotation. Keep JJ for clutch sitiations and the playoffs.

Jazz should look to make their big jump next year, unless a ridiculous opportunity comes along at the deadline.

We are so "unrealistic" to expect the Jazz to score more than 34 points in the first half of a game.

It is unrealistic to think that a team that has been struggling to even reach 0.500 for the last 3 seasons will magically become a reliably consistent team. The reality is that if we make it to the playoffs, we are likely to struggle, and will have a tough time even getting past the 1st round.

The additions of the vets have helped us stabilize, but the team is still trying to gel given the injuries have had an affect on core group playing time together. I think we've done pretty well to even get to this point so far.

I read somewhere that the most likely seeding in the Playoffs will be the Jazz or Clippers in the #4/#5 slots. So given that we have been the Clippers personal whipping boy over the last 5 years or so, who thinks this will suddenly change in the playoffs. Jazz win maybe 1 game at best.

check the sig.

Also there's a weakspot in the chain at PF which wouldn't be an issue if they made the correct moves in the last handful of offseasons(especially the last 2 with Tobias Harris and Harrison Barnes)

Yes, yes. Now, there, weren't you leaving here because of that?

To beat the jazz

1- play physical, especially on the wing
2- switch on every screen
3- pull Rudy from middle

Which team will show up?

We blew out ATL and NO without Hood so why are we using him as an excuse now?

We're either world beaters, or chumps. What the hell is going on?

It's not being bipolar, they need to demonstrate an attitude that determines their winning motives. They still don't have a that. But it will get better during Playoffs.

I post, therefore I am.

Has nothing to do with Snyder. He's not out there throwing up bricks. Who do you suggest he play, Bolomboy?

Have to face the fact that Utah is a .500 team. Had a good run because the schedule was favorable. Now that Utah is playing the better teams, they're losing. This is who Utah is. If Hayward leaves, Utah can start another rebuild. I wonder if Lindsey will tecycle the old "can't skip steps" line. Well, Dennis, you can't screw the pooch by wasting lottery picks, either.

Yup, 12 games over .500. Clearly a .500 team.

Do you intentionally try to be this bad or is it natural?
