All right, in a few months contract talks will start happening for Burks and Kanter. I think the teams in a tricky place with how burks and kanter mainly played off the bench this season. I think they still can improve a lot, which makes me think they will turn down contracts and prove how much they are worth. I'd love to get them locked in though.

Right now I think:
8 million for burks
9 million for kanter

Would be a very good price and probably a steal of a deal in the future. What do you guys think? Who knows one of them could get traded too....

I think Burks is more of a known commodity. They'll try to lock him in, but he might want to test the market and make the Jazz match an offer.
Kanter could benefit more by waiting. He's viewed as a backup who is a liability on defense. It would be a huge gamble by the Jazz to offer him that much. And I doubt Kanter would accept. He can earn Favors-type money by showing consistency and better defense (not to mention starting).

This summer is weak for free agency, but a lot of teams will have cap space after next season. It's the Lebron Decision 2 year. I think they'll both wait.

I think they give them to both. That will give them two years under the new coach to look for improvement.

I hope so. I really think both could have break out seasons next year, so I'd love to get them at a bargain while we still can.

Burks will get one, I think the Jazz will wait on Kanter. If Gobert keeps improving they might see him as the future.

I don't think I can answer this, nor can the team or player.

So much is in the air in regards to a coaching staff, the playing style that will come of that and be expected, as well as what will be the best roster for the playing philosophy.

I like both but if money is an issue and we can only extend one I would lean towards Burks.
I still do like Kanter and think his offense will be needed, as long as he can get to at least average as a defender.

I don't even have an idea as to who DL will target in regards to free agents.

Isn't this just the Jazz excersing a team option? or did that already happen?

That already happened. This is the same thing that Hayward and Favors went through last year. They'll be restricted free agents if they don't get a deal done.

This next year is a team option which has already been exercised.

This thread is about extending them beyond this season under a new contract

My mistake.

I say Burks will as I think the Jazz already want to bring him back. With Kanter I think it all depends on how he plays next year.

I think both the Jazz and the Players will take a wait and see approach. The players probably both believe that they were underutilized or that Ty did not put them in a position to be successful. Both players may believe that with the right coach they will be able to properly demonstrate their value. The Jazz may agree with the players, to a point, but they will not be willing to gamble significant contracts. So the Jazz may make offers but they will be low ball offers that the players will not sign.

Which will be bawse. Which is why we need to extend him now.

Kanter gonna be bullying everyone down low till he gets bored and decides to step out and drain a 3 tbphwy

Enes is a hardworker of off season but as also he himself stated he wasted last one laying down because of injury. Got out of shape. I wanna keep feeling optimistic about him. He will hit the gym agajn and come back stronger than the last season and no doubt he will have a 3 pt ability under his belt which will hopefullly be granted for him to master. This is stupid to me actually. This whole don't shoot midrange, don't shoot 3 thing. If he can do it then let him. This is why I am glad Corbin is gone. Hopefully his mentality is gone too.

I really think Burks and Kanter feel a little bitter about how Corbin played them. So I wouldn't be surprised if they both turned down the deals to prove they deserve more. Though like it's been said I really hope we can lock them into a deal. I don't like all of this Hayward stuff.
