I think Lyles is in the perfect spot to learn ....starting in a lineup with Burks,Hood,Hayward,& Favors will benefit him as well as the Jazz as he will become an integal part of the Jazz rotation joining Gobert and Favors.Who really thinks Withey and Booker are going to be and stay Jazz players into next season.
As it is now you're not seeing Lyles closing out games but still he has the best view to learn ,on the bench.
Next year it will be Exum,Burks/Hood,Hayward,Favors,Gobert w/Lyles,maybe Burke as the core.Lyles has skill and is getting rebounds and moving the ball. He's just like Exum last year ,under a short leash by Coach Snyder on how much he gets to do.
He's getting more comfortable and I've seen a big increase in his physicality/rebounding. I'm impressed with how he is picking things up. He needs to shoot the open shot more imo, but I don't think he's the type that would benefit from a D League stint. Also, we need the guy to play 20 minutes a night. I don't think he kills the starting lineup as much as Neto does because Lyles doesn't end up with the ball a ton.
I think Burks or Burke should be a starter. It gets our best players on the floor more. I'd like to see Burke playing more... He's had a few games where he has struggled, but he's playing much better this year.
