What's new

Will Hayward be around in two years?

Yeah since those guys had exactly the same stats as Hayward.
Obviously no two players in the NBA have the EXACT same stats, wtf is your point? So would you say Hayward was more deserving to be an all-star over the people I mentioned?

Pau was an all star, wasn't he?
Yes you are correct, Pau was named an all-star replacement only after Jimmy Butler could not play.

I think Hayward should have been in THIS year over Blake Griffin. Hassan Whiteside doesnt play in the same conference, but he is nowhere near as good as Hayward.

Blake Griffin in a year where he doesn't punch his friend should make it over Hayward.

The main point is, though, that there are like three players in the league who fit into the category of a combination of points, rebounds and assists as Hayward, and Hayward was the only one who didnt make the all star team.

Hayward is a pretty unique player who contributes at a high level in many facets of the game.

He is not as good as Damian Lillard, and maybe not as good as Kemba Walker.

If Hayward spewed antisemitism would you fall in love with him?

Oh yeah, and if he sported a dark thick mustache at the same time... mmm gravy

Just for the records my response is as little serious as I consider the question to be.

1) One, why did you decide to bring up that subject out of nowhere.

2) Anyone who can't tell the difference between anti-Zionism or anti-Semitism has never really taken the time to figure out what the difference is or is too dumb to do so.

I don't really care to get into it, as I don't view the whole argument has any merit. I think you are a fine dude, though. Just think it's funny that you have some quirky views.

I think you're a fine dude as well. Let's hug now.

Gordon Hayward is going to stay if we offer him megamax contract. We will offer him that deal. I doubt he wants to go back home... Isn't his wife from Utah. Not everybody wants to go home... I could see him wanting to go to one of the nice weather markets it not at a discount.
I'm pretty sure his wife is from Indiana.

I guess you don't really pay attention to the NBA...
Players with better overall stats than Hayward that were not named all-stars:
1. Damon Lillard
2. Blake Griffin
3. Kemba Walker
4. Pau Gasol
5. Hassan Whiteside

Huh?

Pau was an allstar, strike one.
Blake was injured, strike two
Kemba, more PPG, no way better overall stat line.

Okay arguments for Lillard for sure, although he is a major defensive liability (DRPM in Kanter land).
And Whiteside is a knucklehead who has great stats but does not do enough to help his team win. Coaches who vote for allstar reserves may note this.

Will Hayward leave in 2 years? That decision is totally up to him. The dude has earned enough money to set himself up for life, so going where the he can make the most money may not be high on his list. Those "character flaws" that Jamezz infers, demonstrate to me that Hayward isn't an ego-driven, spoiled brat who will jump ship if he is dissed in any way.

Hayward is going to do what he believes is best for him. About the only thing we can do to influence his decision is to do our best to make him feel welcomed.

At any rate, I'm certainly not going to lose any sleep over it.

What kind of fan are you? Hayward is the kind of player that might warrant a little sleep loss. Hell, I might even poor out a little liquor if we lose him.

I never heard of that until you mentioned it, you must be referring to his comment "If Cavs give Gordon Hayward a max offer sheet, that will be dumbest move of free agency."

Don't blame em' for staying away from a potential AK 2.0 case. I was referring to stuff like the following:

Apparently he finds Patrick's behavior cute rather than shoving his *** out of his way. And other cases I could recall.

This is a bad argument. Dumb.

I'm pretty sure his wife is from Indiana.

That's why I keep mentioning Indiana as a likely landing place. His whole family is there. His wife's entire family is there. That's where he went to college and where he makes his off-season home. Over three years, he'd lose approximately $1.8M by only having 4.5% raises in years 2 and 3 vs. 7.5% raises. Not a big deal given a $90M+ contract. And take away 40% of that in federal tax, right? So net, he loses about $1M. But after three years, if he has another opt out, he'd be eligible for a 35% contract. So he gets the same kind of deal he got this time: max with an opt out in 3 years. Utah can offer him 5 yrs, but he'd simply take out an insurance policy for that 5th season because he'll want a new deal in 3 years anyway.

Hayward at the 2 and George at the 3 would make quite the pairing for Indiana. Or they could go small and play George at the 4 against certain lineups. I'm really not sold on Hayward as a $30M-$35M player. Jazz should look to draft or acquire a SF this summer. Or they may have up to three firsts in 2017 to replace him. Maybe we could even see Flex Trey play the 3 if Hayward bolts. He's a Marvin-Williams type player.

I hope hayward leaves if he is gonna get the max

LOL.

Kemba: 21.0 ppg, 43%FG, 38%3PT, 85% FT, 4.4 rpg, 5.2 apg, 0.4 bpg, 1.6 stl/game 2.1 TO/game 20.98 PER
Hayward: 19.7 ppg, 43%FG, 36%3PT, 83% FT, 4.9 rpg, 3.7 apg, 0.3 bpg, 1.2 stl/game 2.5 TO/game 18.40 PER
Other than rebounds per game, Kemba is better in every statistical category.

Hayward is the far superior defender. Every team in the NBA would take Hayward over Kemba.

and here we go again
Why pay Hayward 30 million when you can have hood for half that?
You watching tonight's game?
Hayward will never do what hood is doing tonight

Hood also won't be making half of the max if he keeps doing things like this.

Hayward is probably a max player (according to the market), but definitely not irreplaceable. I wouldn't pay him the max at the risk of losing Favors, Rudy, or Hood.

Granted, I'm biased against him. Something about him has always sort of pissed me off, especially lately. Might be the haircut.
