What's new

Workouts, exercises, and supplements

From a cardio standpoint, or leg soreness?
Both actually. The soreness is obvious because you are using different muscles (or at least the muscles in a different way). But the cardio wasn't where I thought/expected it to be. Now I've started swimming three times a week and doing other things the other 2-3 times a week.

I work out about an hour a day every day. Most of my workouts are cardio based (treadmill interval running, track running, eliptical, bicycle, etc.) and three days a week I do a core routine.

Do you guys that do pool work usually use floaties, a lifejacket, or a tube?
Nothing but my hands and feet. I recently added hand "paddles". I don't know what they're really called. It sure adds to the workout my arms/shoulders get.

Edit: Turns out, they're called swim paddles. This is what I typically use:

My typical morning swim consists of 1/4 mile of just stroking with my arms (no kicking), 1/4 mile of arms and legs, and 1/2 mile arms and legs with the paddles. That mile takes me about 38 minutes usually.

This is a good way to make your muscles cry.

You outdorked my sarcastic question. I'd rather be swimming laps in floaties at the local Rec Center pool than in those Berenstain Bear mitts you wear.

I was hesitant about using them. But I'm glad I started. Don't knock it till you try it.

That is actually pretty flashy for Krav. Lots of show stuff there. This is more basic and from one of the very top guys in the world. Of course this is a seminar so more instruction than exhibition.

I like Krav because it is brutally efficient and, I have found, more practical than a lot of other martial arts. To me it fits real-world situations better, even though all you see on youtube is weapons defenses, that is only part of it.

And it is a killer work-out.

I'm just messing with you. I'm totally anti-equipment now these days though as far as working out is concerned, I won't even touch weights or listen to music while working out anymore so I could never try swimming with those for a workout session just for that reason. At least consistently. If I'm ever in a pool and there is some around, I'll give them a shot just to see what it's like.

Holy the cow, Krav Maga is like Jason Bourne sh**

That is not krav maga.
does not apply to the principles set forth by its founder.

just some flash to wow people. to complicated and such. The more complicated something the more that can go wrong the simpler the better

i could go more into details.

for example some of his weapon defenses are deadly dangerous. because he returns in the line of fire.

LG98 video is correct although just like most instructors they tend to get "flashy" to woo the audience
