Would you trade Favors or Gobert for #1 pick Ben Simmons

Yes, I'd trade either.

The team with the #1 pick wouldn't though, so it's a fruitless exercise.
 
I would like to hear Seattle jazz fans opinion on this
 
Josh Jackson in the 2017 draft would be a much better player for the Jazz to target, they'd easily have one of the best wing rotations with him..

He's not on Simmons level of passing, but he's still a good passer. Plus he's vastly more athletic, a better shooter, and MUCH better defender. Can seamlessly play/lock-down SG or SF.

Not even gonna watch the video of this kid. Assuming he's the kid in blue, he looks like a POS who will be in and out of trouble frequently and/or be a pain in the *** to coach and/or hate Utahr.
 
I think the biggest thing holding us back outside of depth or elite talent may honestly be playing the Favors-Gobert combo. As good as it is on defense, it completely hinders our ability to stretch the floor as they just sort of eat up space. Especially with just average shooters plus Exum who is subpar. Gobert at the 5 seems much more natural (and right) nowadays, especially if you can have a guy like Zingy at the 4 who can stretch the floor but also play some defense.

I know I'm in the minority and I don't fully subscribe to small ball but Favors isn't an undersized 5.

That's not him. He's number 11 in the still shot. His athleticism is off the charts and I think the guy in blue is pissed about it.

He's not in blue.. Jackson's character doesn't seem to be as flawless as lets say a Simmons, Towns or Wiggins. It's not a concern though. SG is actually one of the weaker positions in the NBA, and Jackson's primed to usurp the list rather quickly- IMO.

My question to this thread remains --- if there's a time to trade for the #1 pick, Why's 2016 the time to do it?? Convince me why this is the time to strike, and why Simmons is the franchise changing, transcendant superstar the Jazz need to make 'it' happen.


I'm pretty sure if someone was well-prepared to answer that emboldened question(other than me) in this thread, they'd be aware it's probably best to wait to strike in 2017, 2018. 2019 or 2020 when the iron is sure to be hotter than 2016.

1/ This question is silly, no one trades a #1 pick barring exceptional circumstances (such as having to make Lebron come back home by promising an experienced star/sidekicko to win now).

And that's it, no need to go further.

However I did watch the video and he does seem like an *******
