If there's anything to the report, I would bet that management is actually paying attention to the record and the direction of the team and wanting to do something, while the coaching staff are doggedly trying to win with the team that is there and don't really want to make moves. I think we'd be seeing way more **** being pulled in-games if the coaching staff wanted to trade everybody/particular players and management wanted to ride it out.

If there's anything to this:

Cleveland is wisely looking to shed salary because money is real. Crowder could be on the table, they're trying to dump Shump. I think there are a lot of deals centered around them dumping Shumpert that could leave us with Shumpert and Crowder or their first. I know nothing about Cedi Osman.

Magic are active. Fournier is getting impatient with them never making any progress (as is Vuc), and Magic are looking to shed salary (for some reason). I view Fournier as a pretty clear upgrade to Hood, but I'm not an expert on him. It's impossible for me to think someone could be streakier than Hood or play worse defense (on this the numbers support that Fournier is significantly better on that end as well as passing).

Cavs get Favors and JoeJ
Jazz get Crowder, Shumpert, Osman and Frye

Why for Cavs: according to the article, they want to shed Shumpert, shed future salaries, and shed luxury tax dollars. Check, check, and check. Favors and JoeJ help them win more now than any of the 4 they are dumping.

Why for us: Crowder is a better fit as a small 4 than Favors and he is on a bargain contract. Osman is a nice piece for the future. Frye probably gets waived. Shumpert is the wild card. Maybe we could find a painless way to get him to Houston.

I haven't seen tons of him, but I'll definitely say Fournier is a better passer. By a wide margin. He's also really good friends with Rudy.

Shumpert isn't a wild card. He's a guy you can't count on and paid $11 million next season (if he opts in). It's fine.

Yeah. I'm not of the opinion Fournier is better, but he would fit the Jazz better in some ways. I just think if Fournier comes to this current iteration of the Jazz, he is going to have the same issues, if not more, as Hood. Magic got a lot of players to share the offensive creation burden with. In Utah he'd be forced to do a lot more.

why would he be forced to do more here? DM, Ingles, Rubio (for the time being), Mirotic ;)

I'd swap Hood for Fournier right now. Very little hesitation.

I can’t say I’m any kid of expert on Fournier (honestly mostly highlights), but his game seems a lot more similar to Hayward. Not taking as many threes but moving in for mid-range Js, plus a lot of passing. Him being able to pass would be a significant difference from Hood.
