What's new

You heard it hear first... Trade/Offseason prediction thread!

As long as people are saying they want him back I will continue to say I want conditions.

of course. There are conditions for everything. So, why don't you come up with some conditions that are based on reality?

Not sure I'd call it overrated. He produces numbers but isn't anywhere near top level material. He's a good backup forced into a starter's role. That's what the Jazz need, a backup. I don't think Millsap can be sold on that. I don't think Landry is the right fit for that, and Hickson could be sold on it, I think, if the price is right.

I drool at the prospect of having Hickson as a backup

We draft one first round pick that is going to play next year. We either trade the other pick or draft a Euro who is not coming over next year. And we resign Sap. Other than that we use fillers for next year.

yaaaaaawwwwwwnnnnn,

must we keep referring to him in this way?

This **** is overblown to all hell.
Why? Because they're ignorant drama queens. Millsap was relegated to 4th option once Mo came back and Gordo was inserted into the starting lineup, despite being a better facilitator and more efficient scorer than 2 of the 3 getting plays/touches ahead of him. Dude was **** on all year by Corbin and the local media, yet continued to do his job admirably. He was especially effective when playing with the Jazz's young players, which is probably the best reason to bring him back.

Eric Bledsoe and a junk piece from the Clips or Deandre Jordans contract.

Alec burks and 2 protected 1st for Eric Bledsoe.

If I'd have to call it, I think the Jazz will pick a PG from this draft instead of sacrificing Burks and giving up picks to get Bledsoe.

KOC is stingy as hell. Lindsey comes from the tradition of the Spurs, they like to find untapped diamond in the rough type players and develop that, instead of overpaying someone. Look at Tony Parker, Ginobili, Splitter, Blair, Neal, .. practically the whole team is a diamond in the rough.

Moreover, I just don't think the FO thinks Bledsoe will fit well in our team/personnel... plus KOC likes well rounded players. Bledsoe's passing/running of the team & 3pt shooting isn't there yet.

You under-rate Millsap so hard it isn't even funny. He's substantially better than anybody on that list.

You missed my point. Goodness gracious.

I would take any of those players over Millsap. Why? Because he isn't worth 12+ million dollars. I think someone will overpay to get Millsap. Look at the FA class. Al is the BEST OBTAINABLE FA out there. He will probably get Max or close to Max money. It's ridiculous.

So, yes, I'd take those players over Millsap, because Millsap will demand too much money and minutes to make it worth it.

Going along with your argument Al is a better player than Millsap, and Pau is better than Millsap as well. Why do you want Paul over Al, when Al is the better player?

finally some intelligent input on Millsap. Sadly though, I don't think he would come back to the Jazz after being treated that way.

Sap will probably get around 4 years 40 million or so. I don't think anyone is paying more than that for Sap. Jefferson will probably be the one getting 12 mil/year, and he is not worth that to the Jazz.

well here is my take on things

Millsap and AL ... might as well sign them if you can but no reason to spend a lot of money on them ... there isn't really much better out there but make sure they know there going to take a back seat to Favors and Kanter the team is now built around them
Moe is a good backup but he really isn't the best option ... we need a point guard that will make shots for others instead of chuck up balls with defenders in his face ... he would be a big boost off the bench ... he's fairly similar to Jason Terry in boston
Foye is a different story you can't play him with Moe cause its proven that the defence and rebounding sags and we turn into a old school phoenix suns type offensive team ... throw him in there depending on the matchup and if he is cold yank him out and let Burks play
the biggest key this off season is we need a real point guard I'm thinking taking the clippers second and third string isn't allways such a good idea ..even though they have been a farm team forever it seams.. we need to look at all the options via draft and free agency and solve our problem ... we close to last in the NBA in this area

I'm not sold on Bledsoe. I might be okay with Bledsoe for burks straight up.

2014 draft will be stacked and we could get a great player in that draft. So i hope we go young and lean next season. We need to add another piece to the puzzle and the 2014 draft would give us that opportunity.

Lets sign Jarret Jack to a 2 year deal and we should front load the first year so we have more money in the second year of his deal.
Sign J.J. Hickson to be your 3rd big: Front Load his first year too. Two or three years (we need to use 90 percent of our capspace.

Roster should look like this:

Jack/Burks/D-Leager
Hayward/Burks/ Pope?
Carrol/Marvin Williams/Hayward
Kanter/Hickson/Evans
Favors/Kanter/Hickson/ Adams?

This roster would be interesting to watch. We'd be able to see where the young guys are and what they are made of. We'd also likely win around 30 games which would mean we'd be drafting 6th or 7th-ish which could very well equal Marcus Smart or Harrison or maybe even Jabari Parker.
Who could disagree with this. Please explain if you could actually disagree here. If I was KOC, I'd totally got his route. 2014 could be a historic draft. we are not going to win with Jefferson and Mo as one of our main guys. Why would you keep them just so you could be a 38-43 win team???

No way we sign Al or Millsap. We just can't. It would be stupid beyond belief and a disaster of epic proportions. If Millsap's comments at the end of the season has taught them nothing, then the franchise is in bad shape. I have to believe that they aren't that stupid. No way could they be that stupid. They have two very promising young bigs that will be demanding some pretty big money real soon. You can't wrap up all your cap space in just your bigs. Especially not when Burks and Hayward will be demanding a lot more money real soon too, and especially not when you have gaping holes on your team, like the pg spot. You also cant be signing either one because of the chemistry problems it will create and also upset more of your players. It just bad idea for so many reasons. Also, what about Jeremy Evans? When the hell is he going to play? Jeremy Evans is a stud and its a crime that he doesn't play.

Evans needs at least 15 minutes a game. I don't care if he plays the 3 or 4, but he needs to play. He always impacts the game when he plays.
