What's new

You're the GM this offseason. What do you do?

Nah he’s reasonable. I think he wants pieces that make sense around Rudy and DM. He loved Niko... I think he’s actually going to be appropriately valued in FA now and it’d be a good time to get him if other better players don’t work out.
Exactly. He's easily gettable now. The ludicrous trade ideas infection was crying about would have been a total waste.

Like giving up the chance at Grayson for him, and having a good look at him in our system the past 1.5 years? What was I thinking?

1. Grayson is going to be a solid rotation player (you also had no idea the pick was going to be Grayson so stfu)
2. Mirotic being in our system most likely makes him look better and causes him to cost more ala George Hill

Those are kind of silly reasons, though. Maybe we should have just waited for George Hill free agency to begin with.

ETA: Also, regarding Grayson, I kept saying we weren't going to suck. When everyone was eyeballing a top 3 pick, I attempted (without luck) to clue people into reality regarding us bouncing back when Rudy returned. I don't ride with the perceived highs and lows.

I think you could easily argue the Jazz should have waited for Hill, but the timeline didnt allow it with Hayward's pending free agency.

And again, if the Jazz trade for Mirotic in that year, they might have missed the playoffs due to Mirotic being complete *** for the first month after being traded. Your complaint about the Grayson pick is completely ludicrous because the occurrence of the trade would likely affect W/L total and the pick would have likely been different.

Almost every move you could have waited on in hindsight, though. Like, it would make more sense to have kept the OKC pick and signed Rubio this off-season.

Sure, but was Mirotic being "complete ***" for a month something that would have played out completely the same regardless of scenario? Is it destiny?
