What's The Last Movie You’ve Seen?

Just finished it up last night actually. Loved it.

Spoilers

You think shes going to cheat?

I guess it's how you view cheating. On an emotional and somewhat physical (because they did kiss) level I think she already is. But will she have sex with him? I don't know. I'm assuming Season 2 will open with Mark's character walking in on them in some sort of capacity.

I was actually more intrigued with the fat guys relatoinship with amanda peet. That dude is a great actor. He was in another Duplass movie called the Do-Deca Pentathalon. Great movie as well.

Joe Swanbergs latest movie Happy Christmas is on netflix. It's not the best mumblecore movie but it stars Anna Kendrick which makes it a lot better.

When you get a chance see Save the Date (with lizzy caplan) and Laggies (directed by Lynn Shelton, she also directed Your Sister's Sister, another great mumblecore movie).

I don't remember them kissing? I could have been distracted by my annoying kids and missed it. Happy Christmas is fine, not great but not bad.

I swear I've seen Save the Date but the trailer doesn't look familiar. I must be losing my mind.

Unfortunately the other guy in the Do-Deca Penthalon is kind of trash. That movie was among the most disappointing for me.

Now Baghead, that's one that really got me going.

Have you seen Poofy Chair (?) supposedly supposed to be quite good.

Yes. The Puffy Chair is very early in the Duplass Brothers work and it shows but it's excellent. There's a whole scene built around trying to get three people into a motel for the cost of two. The ultimate in low stakes, high tension.

Siricky - If you've got an hour or so check out the latest WTF podcast episode with Swanberg. Its really interesting and will for sure make you like him even more.

I got to see Lore on Netflix before it cycled off in it's availability.

To start, it was a really beautiful movie. It was shot by Adam Arkapaw who was lauded for his work on True Detective.

I don't watch too many historical dramas but I'm glad I got to see it. I didn't know anything about it and I'm not even sure why I added it to my queue. To start the movie is a little disorientating as the protagonists in the movie are for all intents and purposes, Nazis...some by decision, others by proxy or generational.

94% on RT.

Edited to add: Great trailer by the way.

What a stunning piece of work. An absolutely beautiful movie. I mean, you watch it and you think you're seeing a moving photography exhibit. Shot in 1:33 (4:3) it's images were more photographs than they were cinematic film. The sound was impeccable. The movie just blew my mind. Man. I can still see some of the images in my mind.

This is available on Netflix now if interested...

My favorite interviewer, even better than Stern imo.

I have mixed reactions about Maron and his podcast. I don't really like the guy at all, and I don't find him funny (although the podcast isn't really supposed to be funny) but he is great at interviewing and he's incredibly knowledgeable about so many things. The podcast is great when you're listening to someone you admire or enjoy their work because he digs so deeply into their life but if it's someone I don't know much about I find it pretty boring.

I love listening to how people get to where they are in life and almost every episode he does a great job at doing that.
