What's new

Spencer Hawes

I don't know enough about why he can't seem to get off the bench. But the idea certainly intrigues me.

But if he's a disruption or a sack of **** then no thanks.

His expected career path was essentially the same as Kaminsky's expected career path is now. So I like the stylistic fit. Quin would have to somehow work his magic to rejuvenate him, however.

I don't think he's coming as easily as the OP suggests. Barring an unforseen trade or a draft of Robert Upshaw (and that's hard to do without a current draft pick), the Clips need him. Who else can come in with any size behind Jordan? I don't think they'll be able to chase much of a FA replacement since they'll need to break the bank for DeAndre.

You just making **** up or just dumb?

He didn't even shoot 3's in colllege when he came out. He was compared to Andrew Bogut. Y

I don't think Hawes can provide much rim protection. Have a mobile stretch 4 to play along side a shot blocker is different than a stretch 5 who is a major weakness at the center of our defensive game plan.

You're right. I was wrong. It would have been more correct to say that his career path has led him to the type playing style/results that's easy to imagine as one of the possible outcomes for Kaminsky's career.

Who would be a mobile stretch four that we could get? And who plays C when neither Gobert nor Favors are on the floor? I'm not certain we need to worry about rim protection -- we've got two of those -- as much as we need to worry about diversifying our offensive options in the front court. I'd imagine Hawes would be a rather realistic and positive option to fill our gaping hole off the bench.

****ing THANK YOU. I love how people just think you can easily find stretch bigs that also defend. 3/D bigs are basically a fantasy. And those that do exist or that may be found will likely demand mad contracts on the market because of how much they facilitate basketball on both sides of the floor. The list as far as I can tell is: Draymond Green, Serge Ibaka, aaand...?

Manute Bol. He's available.

Favors plays center when Gobert sits and Booker comes in at PF. Trevor actually showed some 3pt range last season.

I don't hate the idea of spencer hawes. If we can't get frank or something else I like better. He's had a rough year and I'm surprised he hasn't played better. Decent passer can score in the post and stretch the floor. He's David Lee like on defense though. At least he'd add some variety to our current bigs.

He has to cut that pony tail before I'll consider it though.
