What's new

2016-17 NBA PLAYOFFS THREAD

If we get by the Clippers then Favs is key against GSW. Punish them inside and make Green beat you from ouside.

Huge blow for the Grizzlies...

Grizzlies guard Tony Allen has been diagnosed with a strain of the medial gastrocnemius muscle (calf) in his right leg. Allen is out indefinitely and will be continually re-evaluated while beginning rehab immediately.

I just hope that the Jazz show up to play and that we are not shown up by the Clippers.

Woohoo! Playoffs!

So my wife and I are young recent grads who couldn't afford cable this year. I've been getting by by attending a few games and watching the 9-min highlight vids of most every game. But that obviously won't do for the playoffs. If I can't find a friend to catch the game with, what are your suggestions for watching the game in SLC? Are there any sports bars or restaurants where it won't feel weird staying for the whole game? I apologize for my noobishness. I've always been able to catch games on TV, either at my parents or at my own apartment, so this is new territory for me.

Thanks in advance and go Jazz! Looking forward to being more active on the forum again (instead of lurking) for the playoff run.

Buffalo Wild Wings is a good option too.

I think we need to hound the **** out of Chris Paul the way the Bulls used to do to John Stockton, stick to Blake Griffin like glue and make someone else like Redick, Moute or DAJ try to playmake.

Then we need to make hay agains the Clips' 2nd unit. Their main guys are going to have to play heavy minutes and it might weigh on them late in games, especially at SLC altitude.

Clippers played well this year when they played with pace, we need to impose our slow pace on them and not let Chris Paul & Griffin get easy transition baskets.

Also don't let Chris Paul get to 'his spot'. He'll hit that 15 footer all day if you let him. Also Blake can hit 3's now, we need a mobile PF who can guard him out to the 3pt line.

His percentage is as bad as it's always been, he's just shooting a slightly higher volume. Still only hitting one three every other game. Not something I'd really worry about.

1/3 is pretty good for someone like Blake who can just drive and dunk on you if he choose to.

All I'm saying is you can't just leave him on the 3pt line and let him shoot wide open 3's anymore.
