What's new

The Jazz have acquired the 13th pick and select Donovan Mitchell

Lyles issue wasnt as much physical as it was mental. Maybe a nice restart with Denver will help him get his mind right and just play ball.

That's weird.. I don't really remember very much of us being high on Lyles. That's why we love the trade so much.

- We got positive value for Lyles
- We traded into the lottery of a loaded draft
- We drafted our guy we wanted from the start
- We saved money doing it
- Most of us thought 24 and Lyles could get us at most 18 from Indiana

This was such a good move and such a savvy move by DL.

Boris will wait an see. So far Utah has

-Trade number 3 pick Kanter for nothing.
-Trade two firsts for Trey.
-Draft Exum 4th pick bust.
-Trade a former 12 pick an a 24 pick for a 13 pick.

Not being negative on this kid hope he blows up just sayin Utah management does not have a record of increasing asset value in the draft. I hope he does not bust like Trey Lyles an I hope Lyles the best hope he can find his groove.

what are you smoking? His wingspan was measured at draft combine as 6'9

Chill Topanga. Tomato tomato. Danat cannot dribble cause his to tall an arms to long. Some yo kids get triggered by the dumbest thinks like 2.5 inches smh.

Uhh, everyone loved Lyles last off-season. He might have gotten off to a bad start, but by the end of his rookie year and then the 2nd SL people loved him. He just sucked *** this year.

Yup I member I was excited about his play there for a minute. I member people comparing him as a lighter Boozer an Lamar Odom.

Most of us either wanted Turner, or like myself, were upset when we passed on Devin Booker. Trey Lyles has shown flashes, but has been much maligned around here since his draft date.
I wanted oubre. Who really hasn't been all that good either.
Also liked turner and frank the tank but both were already picked.
I didn't like booker and love him now.

After last year over half the board was ready to trade Favors and start Lyles.
I probably hated the lyles pick more than any in jazz history......but after a very promising rookie year I thought he would be very good.
And if he gets his three point shot going consistently then I still think he will be very good.

Maybe for a month or two. When Lyles was drafted he was one of the most hated picks I can remember. And all of last year that half the board got off board with him, because, well, who didn't. He royally sucked last year.

I guess I can be the last person to jump off the Lyles bandwagon. Supreme homerism or stubbornness.

You'd need to check the twitter timelines, but it was one of the Jazz beat reporters or Locke that mentioned it.

Locke. And Locke drafted him at 24 in his Locked on NBA mock draft. This plus the pro-Lyles advocacy 2 years ago suggests he has some inside information, at least occasionally.

Good job cherry picking the worse Jazz moves. That is the key to a balanced analysis.

I was critical of him in the draft thread but now that he is a Jazz man i will love him. I like his personality and the desire to play defense. The funny thing is he has almost the same physical measurement to george hill.

But jumps about 10" higher than Hill does.

There were several people who didn't like the Burke pick at all.

I will be the first to admit I was extremely excited when we traded 14 and 21 for 9 to get Burke. I will also be the first to admit it was a bad trade in hindsight. That draft class as a whole sucked and was completely overrated at the time. Trading 46 and cash for 27 yo get Gobert makes up for everything though.
