CNN -- Actor Gary Coleman is in critical condition in a Provo, Utah, hospital, a hospital spokeswoman said Thursday.

Janet Frank, the spokeswoman for Utah Valley Regional Medical Center, confirmed that Coleman, 42, was being treated there after being admitted on Wednesday.

Frank would not release any other information.

Calls to Coleman's publicist were not immediately returned.

Coleman is best known as the wisecracking youngster Arnold Drummond on TV's "Diff'rent Strokes" from the late 1970s to the mid-1980s.

The former child actor was hospitalized briefly three months ago after suffering a seizure while being interviewed on a TV show in Los Angeles, California.

My first thought when I heard he was hospitalized was "If Gary Coleman dies, what does that do to Avenue Q?". When I was in 8th grade, "Diff'rent Strokes" was right there with "Charlie's Angels", "Mork and Mindy", and Monday Night Football halftime highlights as must see TV. Damn, the 70's sucked.

KSL is reporting he's unconscious and on life support. Not sounding good for Arnold.

And he is officially gone.

I'm guessing you have an inside source.

This show should be the poster child for all that is wrong with having kids be celebrities. Dana Plato, Todd Fields, and Gary Coleman were all ****ed up.

As cool as it would be to have some sources at the star-studded Utah Valley Regional Medical Center, unfortunetly I do not. My friend was telling me about a story on Venus Williams' butt this week so I went to the only reputable source I know of for the scoop and saw the Gary thing:

TMZ is a bigger vulture than I am. They were first on Michael Jackson's death while others were stepping on their own dicks trying to figure out what was happening. TMZ is the trusted source for dead celebs.

Not that this should come as a surprise to anyone, but I was trying to think of a clever thread title for Coleman's passing only to come here and see that KM32 had beat me to the punch with a much more clever title than those floating around in my pea-sized brain.

Well done, KM. And RIP Arnold Jackson.

KM started the thread.

According to TMZ he fell and hurt his head leading to the hemorrhage? This must be the new "it" way to go for celebrities.
