It may be time to move on from him, but I'll be bummed when/if it happens. He was nothing but a class act here and seems to actually like Utah. While I wish his intensity was a bit more there, I appreciated his time here.

Great dude... genuine... always stopped to talk and sign stuff at the tunnel for my son... I’m not sure what the plan is but I want the best for him... just please god don’t go to the Lakers, Rockets, Warriors, or Celtics...

The Jazz liked Bolomboy a lot and thought he had potential, but after acquiring veteran big men Epke Udoh and Jonas Jerebko in the summer, they didn’t see him getting much opportunity this season. General manager Dennis Lindsey called it a “hard day” when the Jazz let Bolomboy go.

“It was a difficult thing for us with Joel,” said coach Quin Snyder. “It was a fit issue, it really had nothing to do with Joel, it was more about our roster. So it was hard to see a guy that you’ve seen invest so much and especially our staff and our organization invest in him.”

Snyder said he’s happy Bolomboy seems to have found a home this season.

“It’s a positive thing,” he said. “You want players to benefit from their time here and we’ve seen it with other guys too. So you’re happy for them. You want to see a guy that’s been a part of your program have success, no matter where it is. It’s not surprising, and I’m happy to see that happening for Joel.”

Wonder if the Jazz will try to bring him back to SL this summer- assume he's a FA.

Agreed, it would have to be a sign and trade. No way we can clear enough to sign him for a price that wouldn't be matched. But those almost never happen so it's pretty unlikely.

Very, very, unlikely. But yeah... when I put it all together - our coaching staff creating huge developmental jumps for those that work hard, his youth, athleticism, hustle, ability to guard up to 5 positions, and the dumpster fire situation he'd be coming from - it just feels like... he could be kind of THE piece.

And I'm not an Aaron Gordon homer AT ALL (go back and read my takes in those draft threads [lol], it just has always felt like it was about fit for him).

It's too much of a risk to do this, but if the organization can see what I'm seeing and really believe in it, I think the max pries him away and the Jazz can get there with some work (Burks being the only - albeit a significant - impediment). I wouldn't do it, but...

I’m not sure the player Aaron Gordon matches his rep. I think he gets paid and I’m not sure he is worth what he gets... to get here we’d need to give something up... acquisition cost and other stuff just make it too costly.

He’s intriguing for sure.

Aaron Gordon is after the MAX and isn't worth it .If you watched Orlando games he played for his own stats.He had a good 2 months to start the season and then shot TERRIBLE the rest of the season.The luster really tarnished on Gordon to close the season out.He's still young but he needs to learn how to share the ball this year.

There is a good reason he was drafted ahead of Exum. He is much much better.

Orlando stood out as a team that was fractured....Fournier and Vucevic just passing the ball to themselves when Gordon was hurt.Gordon ,one man basketball team.Augustine and Speights taking turns shooting the ball on the 2nd unit.Vogel had to go I liked Gordon til last year.

The Favors situation really is tricky.

He isnt the perfect fit, but in 90% of the scenarios thrown out there, letting him go makes us worse next year, and maybe more years after that.

If we sign him to a long term deal, we are kinda stuck where we are. Which isnt horrible, and we could conceivably be a little better with internal growth from everyone.

Let him go and don't replace him with a big name like George, Jabari, Gordon, etc. Then we probably take at least a temporary step back. Maybe its the way to go. Hard to say. Could that be detrimental to the growth of Donovan, Rudy, and the rest of the players?

IMO, the bigger issue with letting Favors go isnt necessarily what we lose at the four, its what we lose as a back up to Rudy. And its not just about the backup minutes. Its what if Rudy goes down? We need to keep moving a long and keeping our identity. If all of a sudden we are relying on some scrub center for a long stretch its really going to hurt the team.
