2019 Trade Deadline Discussion

He would be amazing with us.

I just wish he was a better 3 point shooter. I don't think the spacing in our starting lineup would be much better with Randle than it is with Favors, especially if we keep Rubio.

You make a good point about his spacing, but his 3 point shooting keeps getting better. Most importantly, his energy, rebounding, ball handling and scoring would give us a major lift.

I think Randle is a budding star. He is absolutely relentless.

Exum/Favors + trade exempt + fillers for Love

Rubio
Donovan
Ingles
Love
Gobert

GG
You can't combine trade exemptions with players (or other trade exemptions) in a trade. You can only use them to acquire players who's salaries fit into the exemption.

Have you watched him this season? @Jingled He's not the old Randle, he's looked like a poor mans zion/lebron at times, playmaking assisting from the power forward could take us over the top.

We got korver to hit threes and space now we need a dude to collapse defenses and create wide open looks for everyone

So realistically, is there even a viable offer the Jazz could put forward to get him?

2019 1st & Favors? Surely someone has a better offer than that. Though Favors is appealing because of his expiring deal.

I wonder if they’d have any interest in Royce O’neale to add defensive depth at the wing after losing Middleton as well.

Allen might have some value. I'd be sure to ask he be included in any deal I did with the Jazz.

We could just play him at the 3, next to Favors.

I've seen him a few times this year. He does look much improved. I like the ball handling and playmaking he could give us at the 4, and the scoring obviously. I still thinkg I'd prefer a really good stretch 4 that can knock down around 38% from 3 to play next to Gobert.

I’d personally like to see what we have in him. I think he’s a natural born scorer and shooter, and I think he can be interchangeable at the 1&2 spots. A rich man’s Reddick, maybe not as good a shooter, but think he will be around 37-40% for his career

Also, I don’t have much interest in Randle. Yes, I’ve seen him play tons.

Utah needs a ball dominant all star to create and take advantage of mismatches.

All star or mediocrity, fans' choice.

Rubio for Dragic works straight up. If we had to use a trade exception... they expire in February. I seem to recall that Quin coached Dragic and had a good relationship with him. Maybe I am thinking of KokoskoskoSonovavitch.

Dragic has career stats of 46.7% fg and 36.3% from 3.
Rubio has career stats of 38.5% fg and 32.5% from 3.

Dragic is a playmaker. Dragic is demands the ball at the end of a game. Dragic is 32 and is owed $18 million both this year and next.
Rubio is a playmaker. Rubio should not be on the court at the end of a game. Rubio is 28 and is owed $14.5 million expiring this year.

Why do the heat do it? They dump salary in a like for like point guard swap as they race to the bottom of the standings. This saves them $18 million next year that they can use for a new Free Agent signing. Otherwise they get more of the same next year.

Why do the Jazz do it? They upgrade their shooting and they don't downgrade their playmaking. They can still add a great player in free agency. If you can get Winston in the deal then even better. He seems to be on the outs in Miami and we love defenders. Take a swinger on him and abandon the Bradley ship.

LOL? Mirotic is a UFA after this season and you want to through all that away for a potential half a season rental? Good thing you're not Dennis

All what away? Rubio sucks. Exum sucks. Favors doesnt work well for our team and is likely gone next summer anyway. The draft pick would be a late first rounder which is usually meh.

And you forgot (of course) that we get holiday too.

Jrue Holiday is a 20ppg scorer and one of the best defensive point guards in the league. He is in his prime and is signed for the next three seasons. Giving up 2 expiring solid starters, somebody many around here says is an overpaid bust, and a non-lottery pick isn't that much. And even though Mirotic is expiring, we would still have him the rest of the year and have the inside route on keeping him long term. This roster is a contender:

PG Holiday
SG Mitchell
SF Ingles
PF Mirotic
C Gobert
Bench: Crowder, Korver, O'Neale, Neto, Niang, Udoh, Thabo, Bradley, Grayson

This. Shad isnt the brightest bulb. Of you “give all that away” for a chance at a championship. I woukd throw in another 1st as well. Hell, dont even lottery protect them since they wont be lottery picks.

That lineup looks amazing.

**** it. If they want grayson then throw em our d leaguer too.

I love it. "Exum and Favors suck" so NOLA will give us their 2 of 3 best players for players that are trash. That'll convince AD to stay. Lmfao dumbasses. Might as well trade favors and exum for lebron since the pipe dreams are going. How about you stop and think about the other team and why they'd do it before you post dumb af trade ideas. Fishon's bulb must be out.
