Wtf u can't be serious. U honestly think quin wasn't telling him to stand in the corner. It was so obvious. Be serious

He's been solid all month. I'm not advocating for making him the starter, but it is a little longer than last few games... that's all. The month of November was putrid.

He wastes a lot of time fumbling the ball around. I kind of wish he wouldn't bring it up like a pg. He can attack when we are in our sets and have DM or Ingles bring it up and get us into our offense. Ricky wastes a lot of time probing the defense and watching guys drop under picks and such but it looks much smoother and he generally seems to have a plan. A couple of Dante's drives worked out last night that were lucky and awkward.

Overall he's showing why we kept him. He needs to keep it up for another month or so before I'll buy in. It would be great if he was playing well to boost his trade value and maybe we could move Ricky for a different piece. I'd want another solid PG option in case Exum gets hurt or plays badly... but another solid month would be fantastic for a lot of reasons.
 
Andy Larson made a huge point last night. He said despite the fact that Korver is 37 years old. He's the one that moves the most without the ball. Which is really frustrating to watch all the young guys just stand in the corner and hope something happens.

Well to be fair, Korver’s job isn’t to passively space the floor, it’s to get open so he can be real weapon. In so doing, he actively bends the opposing defense. That’s the only way you’re getting a hand in his face.

I don't disagree, but when Mitchell gets all that attention it often means that there's someone who has a better look than he does but he's unable to recognise that and make the right basketball play at this stage. I've been saying ever since the Korver trade that a lineup of Mitchell/3shooters/Favs or Gobert is probably the best offensive lineup the Jazz can put together, but DM tunnel visions in the PnR too much to really unlock the full potential whereas the Exum/Favs PnR is the best PnR pairing the Jazz have by PPP according to Locke, and Exum being a willing passer even if he's not fantastic at it gets everyone else involved more.

This is a good point, but Mitchell has shown zero ability to play the PG spot this season. Maybe it's a Quin thing then where instead of telling him to try and find his shot he needs to be encouraging Mitchell to make the right basketball play instead and the shots will come within the offense.
 
I'm not advocating Exum as our starting PG right now, but he needs to be in the game to grow. He makes mistakes, and some are just awful, but who on this team doesn't? Gobert and Favors are the only consistent thing we have going. How many times is it said "let Mitchell feel those growing pains", or "tricky Ricky just needs time to get back to his last half of the year self". The same can be said for Ex. Let him experience some growing pains and make a few (more) mistakes. If he feels the coaching staff has confidence in him it'll help with the confidence in himself. In my eyes that's one of his biggest problems. He misses a few shots and starts playing scared. I don't want to hear the b.s. that is what practice if for. If that were the case most of the team would be setting most games including our starting PG and SG.

Playoffs. Vs the Rockets. He had one really good game as the starting pg and one not so good. He had a 17 pt 11 assist game as the starting pg in the jazz only win. He’s proven he can play the position
