What's new

say NO to EXUM. the biggest bust since darko.

I can tell from the way you express yourself that are British true, Union Jack and all that.

It's that understated style of expressing deep convictions.....

my brother doesn't like Exum either, still thinks DM could be good, still thinks coach is rock bottom.

I don't get why it is so hard to see lack of bball skill in these projects. Spycam's tank for Wiggins cheerleading is still embarrassing.

He's actually been a bit of a disappointment this season imo. I've watched maybe 7 or 8 Magic games this season and it seemed like a season where he really should have been able to start showing out, but Vuc is outplayed him offensively and Johnathan Isaac is a significantly better defender than him.

One of my bold calls I made on another forum was that the Magic will trade him at the deadline and go forward with Vuc/Isaac as their starting frontcourt and Bamba as the 3rd big off the bench.

Whenever l feel let down about drafting Exum l always think about how it could have been worse being stuck paying Aaron Gordon 80 million.

Orlando was at least smart enough to heavily front load his contract . It actually becomes quite tradeable after the second year.

Yeah they did good on that. I'd also like to think that if the Jazz, or any of the other organisations immediately behind the Jazz in the draft, took Gordon that he probably would've developed more than he has with Orlando. They were a cluster **** for well over half his rookie contract.

I had to look because I thought Gordon was having a shaky year but he’s at a career best 37.7% on 4+ attempts from 3 and a career best 3.2 assists. His scoring like most everything else is down just a tiny bit, but I’m not sure he’s having a bad year.

True. At a closer examination it became readily obvious he suffers from a serious case of "Rodney Hood - itis"

There are so many games where he gives The Magic absolutely nothing. He'll have a 25/10 game and wrap it around 3 games where he barely shows up. Good defensive teams pretty much shut him down .

BTW, this was considered the weakest draft in a very long time. But in retrospect, it wasn't all that bad aside from the top 2.

That’s not how I remember it. I remember 2013 being considered incredibly weak and 2014 being expected to be an all-time great draft. Hindsight has proven both those viewpoints wrong.

There was Jokic and Dinwiddie in Second round as well.
Lets see - Embiid, Wiggins, Gordon, Smart, Randle, McDermott, Saric, Payton,Lavine, Nurkic, TJ Waren, Capella, Bogdanovic. Any of them would be upgrade over Exum.

Not Payton, he sucks. Wiggins blow too. I also like Exum's "potential" better than a couple of those players. But ya, mostly agree.
