As for randle, some have the opinion that he wouldn't make us better and that he wouldn't be a good fit. Some have the opinion that he would make us better and would fit. Those are simply guesses and opinions. We have no way to know which of those guesses are right or wrong.
We do have some facts though. His teams haven't been good. (Well his NBA teams haven't. His college team was quite good. Fact). But it's only an opinion that he was/is the main reason that his NBA teams have been bad.
It's a fact that the jazz often struggle to put the ball in the hoop. It's also a fact that the jazz need another pure scorer with DM. It's a fact that randle is really good at putting the ball into the basket efficiently.
It's my opinion that we are not going to be able to get a kahwi or Klay or Durant type player in free agency or trade. It's my opinion that any player we get (Niko, Harris, jabari, love, etc etc) will have flaws. Just like the guys we might let walk this summer also have flaws.
So the question is do you try to fill a need (efficient scorer) that is also a risk? Or just continue with the same flaws we currently have as a team and run it back.
I would choose to try to fill the need of more scoring with the risk of hurting defense and chemistry rather than not make a change.
It's a tough decision though.
