For example I have money in the stock market. It continued to grow even during the 5% decrease you speak of. Just slower

How so? If the stock market shrank by 5%, and your stocks did not outperform the market, that means you lost 5% of your money. How is it growth when the market lost 5% of its value?

Proof? lol. I might get back to this and explain it for the benefit of those with actual intellectual curiosity. And you can read it and dismiss it then.
This is becoming a favorite tactic of some people making far left arguments around here. Make an outrageous claim and when asked to support it refuse on the basis that you don't agree with the position of the person asking for proof. Genius.

Just going off the information in my account. I'm certainly no finance expert. I just peek at my account balance every so often

Proof is everywhere. I posted an explanation on General. I know you're comfortable in your privilege and would rather things not change. But overwhelming proof would take you no more than 5 minutes of honest self-reflection. Or you can keep your head in the sand and cry about leftists.

Proof: black people aren't doing nearly as well as whites. There. Unquestionable proof.

Your claim was that white nationalism is clearly on the rise. Your proof is that black people aren't doing as well as whites?

I never said white nationalism is on the rise (I'm not saying it's not, just that it wasn't what I was arguing here). I said white supremacy is mainstream. It's always been there, and it never went away. White supremacy is the belief that whites are either biologically or culturally superior as an explanation for the gap in living conditions.

Micro v macro. The stock market as a whole could have decreased 5% while his individual investments grew.

Okay, your claim is that white supremacy has gone mainstream. Your proof is that black people are not doing as well as white people? I think that donuts are the breakfast of champions. My proof is that the Jazz got the 5th seed.

I don't think it's gone mainstream. Like, it's there in the post you quoted. It never stopped being mainstream. And it's the reason for black's inferior average economic outcomes. But again, you think it doesn't affect you (you're wrong), so you're indifferent. That's all.

You are not very good at logic. And you are also incorrect about how I feel. I want all people to do well. I don't care what their skin color is. I recognize that there are some white supremacists in this nation, but they are a very small minority and they are the worst of the worst. I realize the easiest way to dismiss political positions you disagree with is to claim that the people who support them are doing so because they are racist, but it is a very lazy argument.

Regarding the supposed proof of your white supremacist claim being the disparity in economics between whites and blacks, how would you react if you discovered that there is an even greater correlation between doing poorly economically and growing up fatherless? Did you know that the child poverty rate is five times greater in fatherless homes, regardless of race? Is this because Americans are racist against fatherless children, or could it be for another reason?

Thank you for providing another white supremacist cliche. While having two incomes is obviously better to your financial situation than having a single income, do you think there's a reason for the increased prevalence of single income households among blacks? Is it related to the destruction of their family structure in the days of slavery? Is it related to higher unemployment for blacks? Is there any relevance to the fact that single black mothers make considerably less than single white mothers? Is it related to the insane drug laws and the massive number of incarcerated blacks? Or is it just a magical artifact of their inferior culture?

Not to mention that treating the European (white) conception of a nuclear family as the ideal is, in itself, racist. It ignores the closer relations within black neighborhoods, and the role of friends and extended family in child rearing.

You keep trying to make everything about race. There are a lot more reasons that it is better to have the father in the home than merely to provide a second income. Fatherless family rates among all demographics started rising in the 60's, but the increase was particularly alarming in black communities. Some attribute changes to equal rights for women (definitely a good thing, but everything has consequences), others attribute it to the rise in the welfare state. What do you attribute this rise to?

There is relevance to the fact that uneducated workers make considerably less than educated workers. This is yet another reason that fatherless families are at a disadvantage. Your suggestion that the nuclear family is a racist ideal is truly off the deep end.

Goodness. Another white guy who'd like to opt out of race talk. I am not interested in Fox News' war on the poor. Blacks have been greatly disadvantaged since they were shipped in chains to North America. It has nothing to do with welfare or any other lie that rich people try to convince poor people of so they'd continue to support their robbery of the American public.

You didn't answer any of my questions. Do you think having a ton of black males in jail prevents them from being present as fathers? Do you think a black woman making less than a white woman with similar education reinforces poverty? Do you think it would be more difficult for people to be financially present when they can't find a job?

As for education, do you think black neighborhoods schools have the same funding, and provide the same level of education as white-majority schools? Do you think someone who's been living in poverty and going through inferior schooling will be on equal grounds when it comes to furthering their education compared to a white counterpart?

It's almost like you know nothing about blacks in America. No wonder you'd rather not make it about race.

You can't quote someone who said nothing, so it won't let me make a joke about the above being the best post Joe ever made.

Aargh. I wrote a long reply and somehow it all deleted right as I hit post. I'll try to re-create it. Here are my answers to your questions. No I don't think it's an advantage to a family to have a father in prison. No I don't think it's an advantage to a family to have a father who deals drugs. No I don't think it's true that a white woman earns more than a black woman for the same job. No I don't think it's an advantage to unskilled laborers to have open borders creating an endless supply of applicants for the jobs they qualify for along with the related downward pressures on wages. No I don't think it's an advantage to go to a bad school. No I don't think that people are on equal footing, nor do I believe they ever can, will or should be. No I do not think that income disparity matters, at all. Yes, I do think that it is possible for every American to build a quality life from the skills and assets they have. Yes I do think it's important for parents to try to assist their children and to put them in an even better position than the parents were. Yes I do believe in charity and I do contribute freely (though not nearly as freely as my wife who has a heart of gold). No I don't think life is fair, but I do think that capitalism is the basis for the greatest economic system that has ever existed on this planet.

Is that enough answers for you? I'm pretty sure we disagree on a lot. Hopefully we also agree on some important things.
