What's new

Quin has lost his mind

Jazz can't hit. Rockets can't miss.

This comes down to who shows up, not what you're capable of. John and Karl just missed their shots too or am I missing something?
Karl and John weren't shooting 30 three pointers a game. Plus, if someone like Harden went off they would physically beat him up in the series.

The Jazz are forcing James Harden to make decisions and execute passes instead of shooting open 3s, cruising to the rim, and getting to the line. Through the first 3 quarters, Harden had scored or assisted on close to 70% of the Rockets' points. There isn't much you can do. Go look at some of the plays Harden is making. They're not easy.

Gameplan clearly hasn't worked, I would like to see Snyder try to take everyone that isn't named Harden out of the game when the series comes to Utah and say to Harden "we're making you a scorer only, drop 60+ to beat us because we're not letting you create good look after good look for your team anymore" instead of this garbage. He'll still get his teammates some great looks because he might just be the 2nd best SG of all time when it's all said and done but **** me it can't be worse than what we've seen so far.

Ya, Im thinking this too.

Go back to just playing him straight up. Try to deny him the ball as much as possible too. But if he gets 60 then so be it. Just have to hope its on like 40% shooting. Thats actually what you want. We want him to get his team out of rythm and sink their team FG%.

****... this play him right bull **** seems to open up every god damned thing they have... it looks so easy... just fuggin double him if you are so hell bent on taking him away.

This is bad coaching, but it certainly isn’t all Quins fault. Team has no fight or fire right now. But this defense feels like a football team running trick plays all game because they know their regular **** ain’t good enough.

I don't think it is all his fault. But, he is exasperating the situation. Acting like step back threes count for ten pointers. If you play him straight and he hits them then good. But, this circus defense is killing all of our players make them look like Globetrotters.

Throwing to the corners on wide *** open drives is easy. We are giving the guy a runway to the basket.

I agree... said it after last game... if he hits a bunch of those 4 games in a row then you tip your cap and go home.

It reminds me of a few years ago Curry was hitting half court shots with regularity and teams started getting scared and overcompensating and it led to guys getting layups they never should have... because a guy was hitting half court friggin shots.

Borderline sackable performance from Quin. Builds a defense for 4yrs then completely abandons it for some gimmicky rubbish because he has no confidence in:
a) what he's built
b) his players
c) ALL OF THE ABOVE

So far, the Jazz are clearly out matched two games in. You can say yeah, but the Jazz aren't hitting their shots as an excuse, and you're still proving my point.

I'd be interested in seeing how much the Jazz lose by on average when they lose in the playoffs.

Agreed...plus we are going to look like fools when the Warriors play him straight up. We will be like we should have done that type of defense. This is straight shooting ourselves in face to kill a bee on our nose.

Pathetic thing is none of the Jazz media will hold Quin accountable, won't even ask him an uncomfortable question.

Except with regularity we don't hit shots. This ain't new. We don't have any backup plans. At least having a back to the basket player you can try something when shots aren't falling. Even our best shooters are not the good at shooting threes. Plus, Ingles and Korver are slow complete nonfactors. They ain't spacing nothing. This analytics philosophy is doomed to fail with our roster. Houston has to have the biggest smile on their faces watching Favors and Crowder shoot threes. They should be down low banging. But, instead of focusing on would be strengths we are pushing spacing and corner threes. All of which are good in the regular season when player don't try as hard. Now we are in the playoffs we are not a three point shooting team.

No one scouts the Jazz enough in the regular season to care about shutting Ingles down. Most team will get out on Favors, Crowder, and Rubio shooting threes in the regular season. This is the playoffs the Rockets know to let them shoot. We knew this was a problem before we got a false sense of confidence playing a bunch of basement dwellers the last quarter of the season.

There will be no comparison between shamet and Allen after this playoff. Funny how DL picked Allen over shamet because of his "shooting"

Choosing to focus your complaints against Allen after this game strikes me as a bit strange. He had 9 points on 5 shots and was +2 in 10 minutes. Allen isn't the reason Crowder is like 2-13 from 3 this series, or why Ingles has disappeared, or why Mitchell can't get untracked.

Tough for the team to trade him back then, especially given that he is misleading the management with mixed signals...

I would say the real prob was wasting high draft picks (kanter, burke, exum)

I don't think there was a mixed signal when his wife posted a picture of their baby in a white shirt with a green shamrock on it in January (1 month before the trade deadline and 6 months after the Celtics rumors). That the point when you think our GM would've started to try and recoup some talent for the guy we invested years into. That's just me using common sense though. ??????? HMMMMMMMM??????????????????????????????
HHHHHMMMMMMMMM????????????????????????????????????

Your right, no way in hell for us to EVER SEE IT COMING!! CAUGHT COMPLETELY OFF GUARD!!!
