You braggin about 32nd place?

Why? It would help his game and our offense tremendously. Not saying he needs to shoot 5 -7 of them per game but to take a few and make some would make us unstopable.
Because mid-range shots are the worst shot in basketball, AND you’d be absolutely mitigating what makes Gobert special without benefit of spacing. I’d rather have him work on a shot worth more points and actually spreads the floor than mid-range rubbish.

He would have to take and make a few mid-range shots at near-historic efficiency (at least equal to his insanely high FG%) for it to be worth what’s lost by him leaving the basket. In other words, it would be an absolute mistake.

This is false to a degree.
Rudy isn't a shooter yet, but there are dozens of examples where players who weren't shooters added one later. Malone was deadly with his mid-range game later in his career and Horford's career (and latest contract) doesn't come about as it has without him developing an outside jimmy.
Adding a shot doesn't takeaway from a player. It never has. Rather, it simply adds to their offensive arsenal and gives the defense more to worry about. Rudy adding something reliable out to 15 or better makes him so much more deadly in offensive sets where he can roll outside, sit at the top of the key, or take a shot when he's out of his normal position and the play breaks down.
Aside from that, Rudy has the unique physical attributes to remain in the league as his game relies as much on timing, anticipation, intelligence, and instincts as his athleticism. Granted, he will age, but his decline probably won't be as bad as others I think. Mutombo played until he was 42 and still had massive defensive value until he was 35.

Agree with MOST everything you said... EXCEPT - it won't happen. Let's assume that Rudy improves his "15 foot or better" shot by 300%. Even then:
1. Do you think that Quin will design a play where Rudy rolls out to 15'+ to take a shot? (vs passing it to Conley, DON, Ingles, Bojan, Royce, Niang, Green - hell, anyone other than Davis - who won't be on the floor at the same time)
2. Do you think the other team would guard Rudy in that situation?
NO

We should post-up Conley too, while we’re at it.
Gobert lobs to Conley. Gobert is so tall he can feel more confident throwing the lob over defenders. Advantage basketball.

Because mid-range shots are the worst shot in basketball.
Somehow Kahwi made a living in playoffs with that shot. Same as Malone for years. Now lets re watch last two Houston series and see why Rudy was so ineffective and we did better with Favors on the floor then him? Maybe , just maybe because Houston just did not need to defend him anywhere 10FT or more from the basket?

Is Conley Kawhi? I didn’t read the rest of your dumb post.

There are 200 shots on average for a given team for a full NBA game. Not all of them will be perfect or ideal shots. Yes, a player/team needs to hunt for the best shots, but great players can optimize every kind of shot that they will get including the bad ones.

Having Rudy take one mid range once every three games is not a bad strategy. It could actually help him improve which in turn will help improve the team longterm. In addition, although he may be the exception, having the skill to once in a while to shoot would help most players to proctect their bodies and help extend their careers.

Once every three games. Completely irrelevant
